With my daughter she wouldn't breastfeed so I pumped for 6 months until I dried up. I bought the first years pump at Walmart for less then $80 and it was a double pump. I am going to buy another first years one this time also, you can buy them at Walmart or target.

The Ameda pump I got was about $200. If you buy it without the tote bag and little cooler its cheaper. I know that can seem like a lot of money but if you use it for say 10 months that's only $20 a month so if you plan on breastfeeding long term its worth the investment. Also check and see if maybe your insurance will cover it.

I will be breastfeeding. Last time I got a free one through WIC after renting one from the hospital. I would consider renting for a month until you figure out if you need it, or maybe looking on Craigslist. The good ones are really expensive ($300 or so) of you but then new and the others really aren't worthit in my opopinion.

I will be breatfeeding and only recommend a good pump if you are planning to work or if you can afford it. Otherwise just try to go without it.

I plan on breastfeeding. I breastfed my two previous babies, first one for 6 months and second one for 18 months. The pump I used with both was Ameda purely yours and it really worked well for me. Medela is also a really good brand. Regardless of what brand you pick I would make it a double electric and make sure it has a good warranty.
