Thats awesome how your friend got her daughter to learn mama. I would of never thought to do something like that. We do American Sign Language with the infants and toddlers at the childcare center where I work and I have seen infants as young as 7 months sign for milk. Its pretty amazing how smart these little ones are. Learning sign language actually helps children learn to talk earlier too.
One of my friends got their daughter to say mama first by placing her cheek next to hers and saying it over and over. Eventually her daughter mimicked her mouth movements and then would say it.
Also, there is a site where you can teach your baby sign language before they even talk and you develop an early communication. Ive seen this work and its amazing :) Im working on it with my 2yr old and bubs. Its fun because my 5yr old does it too, so cute watching him sign basic words like "milk" to my 2yr old.
Ya:( I'm just trying to figure out y he would say that if he suppoably didn't mean it! Makes me not want to have sex with him cuz idont want to take the chance u know
Just wow! I agree very insensitive. Babies usually say their real first word around 1 but every child is different so it does vary. They usually start to become verbal around 4-6 months, just starting to form sounds. Around 6-8 months they will take part in back and forth vocalization, like if you say something to them they will respond with some sort of cooing or babbling. One of the first things babies say is da-da but that is because the da sound is the easiest sound to make.
Thats insane. My hubby would never suggest such a thing. Id of smacked him for that.
Awe ya I just don't know y he would say that cement I asked him said just cuz he said it doesn't mean he wanted it
.. doesn't make since!
Nd aww(: how cute I hope mine says momma lol
Tht is really insenstative and hurtful that yr husband would suggest an abortion if u got pregnant again sooner than u thought if it were me ad smack my bf in the face for tht comment. My nephew is 8 months old and he makes alot of babbling sounds doesnt say words as such but he does go mmmmumm and dadada lol and my pals wee one is just over a year and has just started sayin words clear
