Any other mommys Cloth Diapering?

I am so excited to be cloth diapering my baby! I have done weeks of research and will very soon start on my stash! My baby shower is on March 15th so I am going to try to wait to have more money to buy diapers. They are just so cute and a lot cheaper than disposables. I will also be breastfeeding and cosleeping with my baby!

I cloth diapered my first till 9mo and enjoyed it, if it were not for the fact that my son is going to have to start day care earlier I would so do it again!

So using cloth diapers.  The cost of disposable diapers has sky rocketed.  My first was disposable and it was about 35 bucks for a jumbo box.  Now it's close to 50 bucks before tax.  On top of that it's been a pain to potty train my first and she always seem to get diaper rash so easy.  Check out Softbums on the Internet.  Love this brand.  No extra folding and options for your covers.

Hope this helps out.

Oh ps don't forget to add on but cream expense for disposable and those special pail liners too.

I have used cloth with my first three and will use cloth with my fourth as well. The most economical is prefolds or FST and a cover. All in ones are most like disposable.  Pockets are nice if you have a heavy wetter, you can add plenty of extra absorbency.  Hybrids and fitteds tend to be more trim. If you are on FB, check out fluff love and CD science.

I like the aio diapers and hybrid diapers. I used pockets, prefolds with covers, aio, hybrids but aio I by far my favorite. I have never had leaks with my aio diapers.

I think cloth diapering is a good idea in theory, I tried with my first and I couldn't set her down anywhere for a second without her her peeing and it getting everywhere bc it leaked right through everytime, I had to change my clothes and hers about 20 Times a day and it was awful. I switched to regular diapers pretty quickly bc you'd be amazed at how messy and unsanitary cloth diapers are. I'm not saying it won't work for you but it was an awful, messy experience for me so I don't recommend it.

I too have decided on the cloth type. I'm not going with any particular brand as such, so would be keen to hear about the best material. So far I've seen cloth made of cotton with dimensions of 60cmx60cm, however they seem small (and thin)? Not sure if these could be used from birth to a few years? Also, do have disposables on hand as I've heard that the baby's first weeks of poo is a bit runny/black gummy, so it may stain the cloth, just to make it easy I guess. Im planning to get some eco/biodegradeable type of disposables for the first few weeks to avoid nappy rash but we'll see. I'm just a ftm and trying to cover the bases, please second time mums advise if you can.

Love cloth diapers I have used them on my first 2 babys and will be using them on baby #3! I decided to buy a new stash again and have been buying 1 or 2 every week so I don't have to spend a huge amount of money at one time. I'm also breastfeeding again and have coslept with my first 2 girls and plan on co sleeping with this baby girl.
