If I have a boy I am not circumsizing. I believe God put that skin there for a purpose and know a lot who have not done it. Just instilling proper hygiene into the childs life is key. But everyone has their own opinion. Where I am from in Canada.. It is frowned upon unless medically necessary.

I am pregnant with my second boy and he will have it done just like his older brother. My reasoning is because I have worked with young and old disabled persons who didn't have it done it seemed like no matter how clean we kept it they were getting infections like crazy plus schmegma (sp?) Is kind of gross not as bad as the infections but still gross.

I'm pregnant with my second boy. The first I had done and will be doing the same. Although we had a few problems when he was just over a year. He had to have an additional surgery. Its scary but for hygiene reasons I will have it done for my second one.

We have a boy and it was a no  brainer for us.  We are from the states where i would say it is very common. Knowing how cruel teenagers are i wouldn't want to be a boy in the locker room with out a circumcised penis. But i know other countries are not all the same....

I already have one boy and am having another.  I had my first son circumcised due to hygienic reasons.  He actually even still gets dirt/fuzzies around the extra skin that is still there.  Not very often but it is still tough to clean it out so imagine how tough it would be if there was a whole flap of skin! My husband's grandpa actually had to get a circumcision around age 50 because he kept getting infections. He said it was the most painful thing he has ever had done. So why not do it when they won't remember any pain. It was literally nothing for my son to get his done. Healed fast too. Plus, I know it is becoming more common but I think some boys will be embarrassed by it especially when they get older and start being sexually active. I would suggest it for all those reasons.

I am having a boy and will be having this done for my son. I have read alot on how much better it is for hygiene reasons alone.

Can I ask why people do that? Is it a religion thing?

We find out tomorrow but I think it's a boy. At first I was for it and my husband still is. But after some research and Convincing I think we have decided not to if we do have a boy.
