I'm 39 weeks and getting induced tomorrow as long as they have a room for me i've been expecting baby to come any day since 28week. I've been off work and on bed rest since up until 36 weeks no. I've been trying to get baby out so I can get back to work before money runs out ... I was induced with my first about the same time with no.Complications and my second came unexpectedly at. 36 wks my Dr did say there is a risk of csection but given my past and that I'm 3-4 cm and 80-90% effaced It will most likely will go smoothly

My doctor wants to induce a week early because I'm overweight. New studies came out saying that obese women have an increased risk of stillbirth and other complications.  She is also measuring bigger.

There is a greater chance of having to have a c-section due to induction not working. If it's not time for the baby to come and your being induced, you body will fight against the meds causing a miserable labor, and/or complications, ending in c-section. I understand that sometimes it's necessary to be induced because or complications or baby measuring big, but I think it's done too often for convenience. My insurance will not cover induction unless there a medical reason for it. So double check with your insurance.

It's not necessarily that they get induced c section it's just the medicine used for induction is intense and stressful for they baby so it greatly increase the chance it will end in c section because it can become dangerous to try continuing vaginal delivery. And for others they have to have a c section either due too a prior c section or vaginal delivery is unsafe.
