long birth story

After being 11 days overdue I started having irregular contractions on the 18th. Because I was overdue I had a ultrasound appointment at 11 am on the 19th. After the appt I had to stay for testing because there wasn't much movement. It was decided that since I was still in early labour I should be induced for the baby's safety. Ob was busy so said they would come back in a few hours to start induction. By the time they came I was already 4 cm at around 4 pm and they decided against induction since I was progressing. All the way until midnight I was trying to avoid pain medications but because I barely had any sleep from 2 previous nights I couldn't stay awake between contractions and I honestly thought I was losing it. Finally caved screaming for an epidermal and got one after many attempts to get it in the right spot. I got to sleep for 2 hours when I was woken up with the baby's heart rate extremely low and Ob deciding the emergency c section might need to be done.  I prayed so hard at that moment and thankfully her heart rate went back up. Alittle bit after I felt the urge to push... epidural didn't work as nicely and I didn't get it adjusted bc it was a good thing that I could feel when to push. What should have taken around 3 hours to push according to my midwife took me 30 mins. When she said 3 hours I was like not on my watch and pushed with my life. After god knows how any pushes on May 20th at 5:33 am Narjis was born :) only 2 stitches. Word of advice make sure you have plenty of rest before delivery you need it!!!! GOOD LUCK to everyone else :)
