I'm getting mine done this month. Going to use Aveda products.
My doctor assured me that it's safe. Last time I just had the foils done hoping the highlights would hide my grey hair. No such luck. Next time I'll get the whole thing done again. I don't like having grey hair while I'm pregnant!
I'm just going to agree with everyone here..its safe. :)
My doctor said it was ok. He recommended that I wait until after 15 weeks. So I waited until then. The lady that owns the salon that I go to was pregnant about 2 years ago. And she worked up until 8 months. She dyed ppls hair on a daily basis. and her little girl came out totally normal. She is a very intelligent little girl. It is totally safe. And no you dont have to use any special hair dye. Have you asked your midwife what she thought?? I feel ya on not being able to wait any longer. I waited 3 1/2 months and I thought I was going to die!!!!!! I to am going to visit all of my hubbys family in oregon in two weeks so it was a must that i get my hair and nails and toenails done. Lol. I definitely want to look cute. I have only meet his mom on that side of his family. It is going to be so much fun. But anyways, you are definitely ok to get your hair done. now days the chemicals arent nearly as strong smelling as they use to be. so go get your hair done and feel like a sexy pregnant woman that you are, LOL. I feel SSSSSSSOOOOO much better.
I just got my hair colored, I had the foils done. Make sure your stylist is aware you are pregnant and the dye isnt sitting on your scalp. I talked to my dr, the stylist and read the pregnancy book and it all said it was fine
Oh yea, she did say in some people like myself that if your hair is hard to color, it will be really hard to color when you are pregnant, Hormones
My sis has been a hair stylist for 20 some odd years and we talked about this last night, and she said if the chemicals would harm the baby then everyone that does hair for a living would have baby's with birth defects.......makes since to me, I see pregnant women doing hair all the time, and my sis did too when she was pregnant
