Is a heartbeat of 174 or so too high at 6weeks 4 days?

We just recieved the results from our first blood test and ultrasound (they did that for dating) and according to that today is my 6 weeks and 6 days in pregnancy. however, my last period was on 6th february and every website that i have checked says that i should be in 9th week of pregnancy. i asked my doctor about that and they said that this is perfectly normal. anyone else out there had a similar experience? any info would be helpful. the doctor did say baby has hertbeat of 174 per second or so .Is a heartbeat of 174 or so too high at 6weeks 4 days?
can anyone guess is it a girl or boy??

HBs are high in the beginning and then level out later.  12-16 wks should give you a much better idea.

No worries ladies. Those HB are just fine. Depending on what you ate before or how active baby is...Those HB that are average 120-160s are just that an average. Wonderful  CONGRATS AND CELEBRATE

Mine was exactly the same at 7 weeks, 173.  This past week, at 10 weeks, it was 180. I was wondering the same thing-is that too high?  The nurse prectioner said it was "perfect", but everything I read online says normal is 120-160.  I'm sorry I don't have an answer, just the same question!
