*SIGH* Was at the hospital all day!

So i havent been on all day  since i ended up at the hospital. I had been having contractions for the past week or more, well i thought that they were just BH. So sure enough i am contracting, my midwife was very surprised since ive had a perfect pregnancy. Good news is that baby was doing great, his HB is good.
I was monitored and was having at least 5 contractions an hour which for 34 weeks is not good, well my midwife doesnt want me going into labor now. She wants me to at least make it to another 2-3 weeks. So i got my Strep B done, which came back normal. She checked to see if i was dialating, but the good thing was that i wasnt. She said that i might be at 1CM but as far as she can tell it felt more closed that anything. Though my cervix was soft, she said i was thinning already. She didnt tell me at what percentage i was, but baby is at -2 and in position to come right out. I had to have a shot of some medication (forgot what its called) to stop my contractions. It seems like it has helped some, though i might have to go in for 1 or 2 more rounds. They also did a test to see if i might go into preterm-labor and that came back negative, well at least i wont in the next week. Though if these contractions persist, they will send me to a different hospital since the hospital on base doesn't have a special unit for premature babies.
So im not on bed rest, but i cant go on long walks, be very careful and just take it super easy. I need my little guy to hang in there for at least another 2 weeks.
I was stressing a little since i haven't even washed my little guys clothes or even finished packing my hospital bag. Thank God my little guy didn't come.
Need your prayers ladies!!

BTW ... -2 is good...you still have to get to 0 and then the positives.  Stations go from -4 to +4.  Which is from floating above to head's coming out.

I feel your pain. That happened with my little guy and I went on bed rest and made it to 39 weeks.  Your shot was probably tributaline. When I was in preterm labor with him they did 5 shots of trib and that still didn't work so I got admitted and got magnesium sulfate (which I wouldn't wish on my WORST enemy). They also put me on oral meds (procardia) to ward off any further contractions when I came home.  I know it stinks but I'd definately do as much laying as possible as you don't want him early if at all possible!  Take care!

No i didnt come home with any oral meds. The only thing that my Mid wife told me was that if contractions persist, to come in again and they will give me another shot. Another round of the same medication. I am going to rest as much as possible the only thing that i really have to do is train my replacement at work. Which isnt bad, i work in an office. I feel like its the least i can do since i been working there for 4 years and they been great to me. They know i have to take it easy. I will check with my mid wife and see if she can give me anything to take orally.

Try to put yourself on bed rest as much as possible...  I went into preterm labor at 28 weeks and due to strict bed rest, I have hung on and am now at 35 weeks.  Stay on your left side and drink LOTS of water!!!!  Did you come home with any oral meds to help with your contractions?
