fetal movements

How often do you ladies feel your babies move?  Sometimes I feel him move quite a bit, and some days, I would be lucky to get a kick.  Once I was concerned and my Ob sent me for a NST and in a 1 hour period he moved at least 27 times, but why is it that when I want him to move, I drink something sweet, lay down quietly, he does nothing.  It becomes stressful, my mind starts wondering if everything is okay.  I dont know how to remain worry free, I feel like I am always worried when one thing doesnt go right. When I decide to go to my OB, he starts moving and kicking.  I dont want to keep going to my doctor unless I really have to.  Is anyone else going through the same thing, and how are you coping.

I have the same situation.  I went to the doctor paniced b/c I thought something was wrong.  Turns out, i have an anterior placenta (placenta is on top) so even when she does move and they are slight movements, I might not feel them until much later on.  I'm 25 weeks now and i'm starting to notice more movements.  But, my doctor also explained that babies are just like us.  They have their up days and their down days.  Somedays the baby will move constantly and it's very noticable, but then, the next day he/she needs time to rest.

Boy, I don't know, because I'm having two, I seem to feel them frequently, but I do notice I feel the bottom twin a LOT more then the top twin.  But, whenever I've had ultrasounds, the bottom one is almost always asleep!  The doctor said he's the calm one of the two!  So, I think it just depends on the baby.

I'm about 25 weeks and I feel her move/kick everyday so when I've gone the whole day without feeling much or anything at all I get really worried. But usually if I lay down and  relax and then my husband and I start talking to her, she'll move and I feel a lot better.

i'm the same way as yall!! i have an anterior placenta as well, so the movments are dulled down - except on my sides, thats where i feel her most.. but yea she will be really active one day - man, it makes me feel so good to have her moving all around all day!!! and then the next day she will seem so still. it defintely freaks me out... i do the same thing - drink some OJ and lay down quitely.. i have a doppler as well.. so if sitting still doesnt work and eating sugar then i resort to the doppler and all has so far been ok! after so many mc's in the past, i'm super paranoid.. and wont feel at rest till she is in our arms finally! : ) Not much longer girls!!!! YEAA!!!!

i am also going thru the same thing! im almost 28 weeks and lately she has been rumbling all over the place in there, my whole stomach moves..then yesterday i hardly felt her move. its just little twinges like when i first started feeling movement. i have an anterior placenta, dont know if that has anything to do with it. its like she way in the back somewhere. i have been freaking out! i have had 2 m/c because of a blood clotting disorder so thats why. i just try and stay calm and usually she will start back up again..but as of now im still wait for that!

Hello lwtLababy!

Yes, I'm going through the same thing....sometimes it feels like your the only one it happens to.

...I get very worried too when I don't feel him move/kick.  I also have days where I can feel him no problem and other days where he's just not as active.  But I guess this is quite normal as perhaps he/she may be sleeping or just not as active on a certain day, maybe he/she is having an off day as we have our off days.  That is why my husband & I have rented a fetal doppler to put our minds at ease.  When I am uncertain b/c I didn't feel much movement my husband will play doctor and find his hb and we know everything is alright.

But it is quite normal to feel this way and I feel that you have every right to go to your OB for any concern or worry that you may have.  It's better to be on the safe side.

Good luck with everything!
