2 months and 4 days pregnant... due date 10/29

I need a doctor to atleast say something...

I have been taking 4 (1mg) xanax a day for 9 years. Mar. 3rd I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I called me physc and he told me to wean off of them. He said take 3 for 3 days, 2 for 2 days, 1 for 2 days and then 1/2 till the 20 xanax I had were gone. Mar. 7th I went to see an ob/gyn and they said everything seems fine and that I was 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant that day.

This is exactly how I have been taking the xanax.
Mar. 4th                             3 a day
Mar. 5th                             3 a day
Mar. 6th                             3 a day
Mar. 7th                             2 1/2 a day
Mar. 8th                             2 a day
Mar. 9th                             1 1/2 a day
Mar. 10th                           1 1/2 a day
Mar. 11th                           1 a day
Mar. 12th                           1 a day
Mar. 13th                           1 1/2 a day
Mar. 14th                           1 a day
Mar. 15th                           1/2 a day
Mar. 16th                           1/2 a day
Mar. 17th                           1 a day
Mar. 18th                           1 a day
Mar. 19th                           1/2 a day
Mar. 20th                           1 a day
Mar. 21st                           1 a day
Mar. 22nd                          1/2 and 1/2 of a 1/2
Mar. 23rd                           1/2 and 1/2 of a 1/2
Mar. 24th                           1 a day
Mar. 25th                           1 a day

I feel that I am doing good to get off of the xanax, but I also feel that I am doing it way too slow. As of Mar. 26th I am 2 months and 3 days pregnant. My question is, can there be something very wrong, or wrong at all with my baby? And if there is something wrong what options do I have to help out the situation?     please let me know. I really want everything to be ok. :- /

Um I tried valium before and it made me panic really bad I felt like I was floating on the highway while we were driving on it. No I will never take that again. lol I went to the ob/gyn Friday April 4th and I heard the heartbeat and they said everything is progressing the way it should be. I asked them if something could be wrong and they said they cant really tell anyone if anything is wrong or not b/c anything is possible to happen at any time during pregnancy, but that everything is the way it should be. Today April 6th I am exactly 10 weeks pregnant and last night I took 1/2 of a 1 mg xanax. I am still trying. My body does crazy things while I am trying to get off the xanax. Like sometimes when I go to drink some water I have to put the glass down b/c it feels like I am drowning myself if that makes any sence. They told me I can take zoloft. I dont know if that is a benzo or not. I havent taking zoloft yet b/c I heard that if you do take zoloft that you have to quit before 7 months b/c of what could happen. That is sucky. Oh they also told me that xanax if anything... meaning if I was to take it alot during the pregnancy or even the whole time that the baby will be addicted to it and have withdrawls. I dont want that to happen so I am trying to get off of it quit, but still on it. :(

I just wanted to say you are doing fabulous in getting off the xanex.  It is very hard to do and you are doing it extremely fast.  I don't know much about what is good or not good for the baby.  Have you checked to see if any other benzo could be substituted for the xanex so that you could withdraw more slowly and, at the same time, the new med (or benzo) would be less harmful to the baby?  I know that valium is used sometimes for weaning after crossing over from xanex.  I don't know if valium is any less harmful to the baby, but if it is, it might be worth checking into so you can withdraw more slowly.
