With Gavin I got the brown and white Pottery Barn bedding and had his name embroidered on it.  The walls were a shale blue color.
We are building a house right now and the new color of Gavin's room is called Kentucky Haze.  I am doing a madras plaid bedding for him.  If I have another boy I will go with the same Kentucky Haze and a striped bedding i like from Pottery Barn.  If it is a girl I am not sure what I will do.  I don't like themes.  I want the room to last a while.

OMG, you guys have so many ideas!!!
In fact I was just thinking to paint the room in a warm beige with white furniture and then decorate it with curtains, fluffy animals, cushions, rugs, etc either pink or blue to make it a girl's or boy's nursery... Sounds very simple compared to your themed nurseries... I'll have to think about it more I guess ;)

I also want to do chair rail (the molding that you put about halfway up the wall). It's going to cost us around $50-60 to do that for the one I picked out and I'll paint it myself.

kjbutcher- love the monkey idea! I saw the CUTEST bedding set at Babies R Us (I think Target has it too) with monkeys. Absolutely adorable. If I do the safari/jungle theme it will have a big mix of animals. But hubby isn't too set on the idea so I'm going to go browse and get ideas now.

My little girls share a room now- it's a garden theme. Pink walls, brown trim, white furniture... with flowers and butterflies and girly stuff galore everywhere.

Too much fun! These kinds of posts are my favorite. I love gleaning ideas from people, too. Cannot WAIT to see pictures! I'm painting the trim in the nursery when it gets warmer out (so I can open windows). And once we found out gender I'll paint the walls!

*ANY IDEAS?
I have a lot of BLUE crib sheets so if we have a boy what color scheme would look good? Any ideas on themes? I don't like Disney characters or anything like that. I'm off to look at bedding sets to get ideas (even though I never buy the actual bedding sets, ha ha!).

I also forgot to mention that once the kids get their own rooms, we will let them decide what they want in there. I think they should have somewhat of a say when it comes to that stuff. So once Jeremiah is about 2 or 3 I'm sure he will love something (airplanes, trucks, bugs, etc.) and I will let him choose and design from there! =) I love designing and painting rooms. It's so much fun! =) I will probably enjoy it more than he will! lol

Well, we are keeping one bedroom as the nursery for years to come, so once we finish our addition, Jeremiah will get our room now, and the baby will be in the nursery and once this baby gets older, will move to his/her own room and so on and so on. (however many children God decides to bless us with) So we have decided to keep it neutral. But I want it to be kind of sophisticated, yet cute. So I what am doing is putting this really neat molding up about halfway up the wall or so and doing the bottom a light tan and the top a darker tan. For the molding and trim I am painting it kind of like a rosy-brick color. Then we are going to get shelves and display some classic pooh items. I want it simple, yet cute. Also I am going to put roman shades on the windows to darken them and dress them up. But once we have this baby, I will buy crib bedding, something cute for either a boy or a girl to dress it up a bit in there. =) That's our plan for now! It should be done in a week or two, so I will post pics as soon as it's finished! I can't wait!

DS never had a theme cause of our wall paper.  We are selling our house so once we are in our new house our themes will be...

DS room will be hockey theme or airplanes.  He absolutely loves both and I can see either growing with him till age 10 or so.
New baby
Boy:  It will be a jungle theme down to monkeys hanging from the ceiling.
Girl:  Wow, I have no idea.  I may have to steal your ideas joy!  I will be doing a ton of looking and I'm sure her room will change many times.

Okay I'll go first...

If we are having a boy I was thinking about doing a safari-theme but now I am not sure. It would be our first boy so I might change my mind to something like a sport-themed room (hubby is a football fanatic). I need to look at more nursery ideas for a boy before I made a decision.

If we are having a girl I want to do a ladybug theme or dragonfly theme! I really like the idea of doing burgandy and pink and cream!
