2nd trimester bloodwork

i was just wondering if anyone has done the 2nd trimester bloodwork. i only have this week left to do it since im 19 weeks so i was just wondering what peoples results were. if it came back fine or a false pos or a pos. my doc said i should do it bc u can never have too much info. also if u did the ntt ( where they measure the skinfold on the back of the neck) are the chances of your bloodwork being okay higher? Im just really on the fence about it. if im going to do it i need to do it. i go for my anatomy scan on the 20th so if im going to do it i need to! My sis did this bw with her first and it ended up being a false pos. shes preg again and said she wasnt going to do it. i just dont know!

I do the Down Syndrome test next Friday, 22. I also get my U/S done that morning at 10 and not sure when any of my other tests will be done that they told me about. I am nervous about all this too avik so your not alone. Good Luck to you on your results. Good Luck to everyone with their pregnancy.

so far all of my bloodwork has been okay.  I had the Downs and Spinal Bifida tests done last week.  I assume everything is okay since no one called.  I have had two ultrasounds and I new it was fine anyway.  I go for my real u/s next week on the 21st.

Yes I did all the testing for bloodwork. Not really a big deal. They said they would only call me if the results were positive or bad. I couldn't wait so I called them.. The results were all normal. Thank god! I have heard that alot of these tests come back with false positives and cause unneccessary worry but thankfully mine were normal. My NT scan was also normal. Honestly your 19 weeks, I would just stick with the anatomy scan becuase they will check everything and can most likely tell if there is something wrong with the baby. The results sometimes take 2 weeks to come back. I go on the 27th and I can't wait.

I did the 2nd part of the quad screen last week so should get my results within 10 days of that, although my dr. said they only phone if they're not good. I'm 39. If the results are bad then I can request an amnio, if not then I can't get an amnio because i'm not 40 (unless I wanted to pay for it myself i guess - NOT).

Hopefully my results are good.

I did it with my first and got a correct negative result.  I will be doing it again with this one.  I would rather get a false positive than be at the u/s or in the birthing suite and find out there is a problem.  I do know several people who got a false positive and it did put a lot of stress on them, but they had the apporpriate testing done afterward to find out all was good and it easied their minds. It is totally up to you though.  Chances are whatever they are testing for in the blood work, you will have a good idea if you are at risk for it at your u/s.
