Braxton Hicks Contractions

So for all of you ladies that have had babies before (and even if you haven't and you still have these stupid things!) is anyone else experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions? I have been having them since 14 weeks and within the last few days I have been having a ton of them. I am so worried that I am going to go into preterm labor because they actually make me stop and think about what is happening and they are uncomfortable. Any suggestions?

A couple fews ago I had the braxton hicks all through the night- I went to see my doctor the next day and they said to drink more water and evrytime you get up to pee to drink some because when you sleep thats at least 8 hours of no fluid.. Making it 1/3 of your day- After that I now keep a bottle at my nightstand and when I get up I drink a little to keep fluids going in and keep hydrated

I think I experienced some yesterday at 15 and a half weeks...And I think it was beause I was on my feet all day at work and we were busy...and also I decided to go walking after work and walked briskly for a mile....I came home and rested and felt better this morning.  I agree that drinking water helps also!!

Himy first pregnancy I didn't notice them at all but with my second I felt them from 16 weeks daily espically when I was moving/walking fast. But went to 37.5 weeks before she was born. So I wouldn't worry about preterm labour. Hope all goes well

purplepeaches--- Its hard to explain but like nickie said its kind of like a tightening in your belly and you're belly gets hard and it feels like a little pressure. Usually last for a couple seconds to a minute and then goes away.

I'm not sure if I've felt them. I have been feeling a little different and come to think of it I may have felt it here and there. Now that I know what they feel like..I guess I can pay attention to it a little more. I thought what I was feeling was all a part of stretching and such.
Hope that you don't go into preterm labour. Just take it easy for sure!

I am glad that I am not the only one... I have been having a ton of them the last few days and I really hope that nothing is going on. They are like tightening of your belly... it is really hard to explain for girls that have never had them before. I have been drinking a ton of water and sleeping a bunch so I really hope that things are just working like they should!

I agree with alaysha, I drink more water and slow down whatever I'm doing. I had some really steady ones last week that put me off my feet for about an hour. Scared me, but everything is ok.

I've been having some. I never noticed BH contractions with my daughter but with this pregnancy I notice them all the time. My doctor told me just to drink more water and not to run around as much. Usually it helps, but not always.

I don't have any suggestions since this is my first pregnancy, but I was wondering what exactly Braxton Hicks feel like? I know what they are I just don't know how to tell if I'm having them or not. But I do hope that they don't cause you to go into preterm labour!
