No, it isn't true...or maybe for some. I will tell you this, it certainly feels like you are pooping during labor, but you aren't. Plus, this is a good reason not to eat while in labor, lol

lol Yeah I guess during labor that's the last thing on your mind. I just thought I'd ask since the other day even my husband said "Is it true you poop when you have a baby?" I'm not sure who told him that but I laughed and sais sometimes yes- lol

Yeah, I have only heard of an enema to help prevent you from pooping. Although if you go in to be induced, they don't let you eat anything all day so if you go in at 6:00/7:00am and use the bathroom then, that's about the only other way that it might help to stop that from happening. But like most of the girls say, they've seen it so many times that they just wipe it away without you or anyone else even knowing!! So while some women might say "I didn't poop" ...maybe they really did ;-) hee hee!

But I'm really worried about it too... with my first i was SO scared that I'd poop on the table and almost didn't want to push because of it, but once you get that urge to push that baby out, you just do it, and you don't even care if you do end up pooping!!!

Well I've never pooped but I hear its pretty common and the nurses/doctors see that all the time.

haha NOT WORRY ABOUT IT... it's so common and doctors and midwives wipe it away so fast that no one ever notices anyways!

The only thing I heard is having am enema but even then it isn't guaranteed. Unfortunately I think its just one of those things that could happen while giving birth and if it does happen I doubt you will even know and I'm sure the doctors have seen it hundreds of times before so it isn't really anything to worry about. I kept asking people after I gave birth the first time if I pooped but no one would tell me.
