What did you feel like before going in to labor?

Just curious if anyone remembers (if this isn't your first) what they felt like before they went into labor? Was it unexpected and you felt great or did you feel crummy, tired, etc.? I haven't been feeling the best the last two days with contractions and have not gotten any sleep (but whats new;) and I am wondering if there are any signs other than contractions or your water breaking before labor;)

I have been wearing pantiliners, but I know those won't hold much..haha! I drive into town twice a day to drop off and pick up my oldest from school and sometimes in between I run my errands, so I am just waiting to see if and when it will break! I keep hearing that everyone has felt as if they had to go to the bathroom, so I hope I feel that way so maybe I could...just maybe make it to the bathroom...lol! I am just SO ready, as I know all of us are!!! I wake up each day thinking, could this be the day, and then nothing, so I guess I am going to have to start not thinking about it, but that's kind of hard with this big ole' belly in my way;)

My water broke with my second at home, and it was the best timing ... I woke up at 4am to go to the bathroom, as soon as I sat down on the toilet ... BAM!  It was a big one, not a leak ... so it was really good I wasn't in public!  The good thing about your water breaking is you know it's for sure a go.  I didn't start labor on my own, so they induced me ... 7 1/2 hours later I had my baby girl.

I'm wondering ... if you wore a pad those last couple of weeks, just in case ... do you think it would catch enough of it to at least not be completely humiliating?  I remember the sound of the water breaking into the toilet, and it sure seemed like way too much ... but I didn't actually see the amount either.

LOL I'm afraid of my water breaking in public too. I'm sure people will know what's up when a pregnant woman has completely wet pants. I can just imagine people getting all flustered and freaking out and me being the calm one in a situation like that! haha

I just went in for my appointment and the doc says it could literally be anytime now, but that's what they said three weeks ago, but I really trust him, b/c he is the one with the most experience! He told me he predicts my water will break and then I will have contractions instead of the other way around, but we will have to wait and see! He took me off of bedrest and told me to walk, walk, walk;)
I am afraid of my water breaking in public too, as I am always on the go!!!! I would rather it break while I am at home or at a relatives house or at least somewhere where I am comfortable!
I can't wait, but I am going to just walk and do what I normally do until the moment arrives;)

I don't know about anyone ele, but I really hope my water breaks while I'm sleeping and most of the early labor stuff happens during sleep. I think the anticipation and wondering if I'm really in labor will drive me insane! I'm totally excited about going natural, but nervous about not knowing what to expect. My family is notorious for dramatic water breaking in public I just found out- that does NOT sound like something I want haha.

Wow, each one of your stories is so different..haha! I just don't know if my water will break or if I will have contractions or nothing;) Guess I will just have to wait and see! Today I have felt awful and had very painful contractions that went into my lower back and they have been off and on, nothing so bad that I thought I was in labor just yet, so if I continue like this then I will just wait it out til tomorrow at my doctors appointment to see if I have made any progress or not!

With my first I felt horrible for WEEKS before.  My dr stripped my membranes at 2 weeks late, then 3 hours later I had regular contractions and knew I was in labor.  This time around I have no clue, it's totally different!

The day I went into labor 5 years ago yesterday :D I just remember cleaning the house and after that I wanted to repack my hospital bag. I unpacked everything and then i felt like I had to go to the bathroom and got up from the sofa and my water broke. It was so unexpected LOL and I rushed to shower and get dressed. LOL I was looking bad that day.

Sometimes feeling like you have to go the bathroom (bowel movement) and can't can be a sign that you are in labor

I had absolutely no signs the first time around. I was 38 weeks and wasnt due until January and all my friends went out of town for Christmas. I remember one friend calling to tell me to please not have the baby while she was gone and saying that I felt fine, wasnt having any contractions and would most likely go late. Ten minutes later my water randomly broke and 12 hours later I had my daughter. Im hoping there will be more signs this time since I really wanna be prepared instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
