I havent seen any questions like this

So I guess this is mainly for people in the okc, oklahoma area. I was, as usual, drug tested at my first appt. Now ive only smoked weed and its not a "gateway drug" so no harm done..i just wanted to know if anyone has had a doc that wasnt concerned with that so I can possibly switch.

If you put on the internet about smoking pot while pregnant, you're asking to be judged, "honey."

Lol, so first I wrote this a while back so im not looking for a doc anymore. Next u obviously didnt read what ive wrote because I sed earlier that I have quit, and ive never sed that thinking u shouldnt smoke makes u a bad mom, I kust sed I know im a better mother than most. U really came in late and dont have enough info to be making judgements on me lol. And about the prenatal care, the docs dont do anything but weigh u and listen to babys heartbeat which isnt gonna tell u much. I obvioisly dont want to deliver my own baby so thats why I have a doc! Lol. But I know how u people are so ill give u a break honey!

You are beyond selfish. You can't give up drugs for the sake of your unborn child. It's only 9 months! And on what planet does thinking you shouldn't smoke weed while pregnant make you a bad mother? That doesn't even make sense. Also, you claim you don't need prenatal care.. so why exactly are you looking for a doctor that's okay with pot..?

U crack me up lady! Youre all about proving that smoking weed while pregnabt is bad but u never have ANYTHING to support it. U have a few things about cigarettes but I never said anything about cigs. Im sure you dont know that several studies have been done where pregnant mothers smoked weed throughout their pregnancy (ALL of their babies were perfectly healthy) and they were compared to babies whose mothers did not smoke. Those same children were tested for like 5 years regulalrly and guess what? The pot babies were SMARTER, with no "psycotic episodes" lol. And how many times have u heard about someone getting stoned and robbing a bank or killing his family or any "psycotic episode"? Never! This happens with alcohol every 10sec or so..im sure u dont have a problem with drinking. Wasnt it you who suggested I did that instead? I dont know for sure but I bet u support it. Again, you crack me up! Thanks for the laughs!

Posting late, Amanda, you should NOT be posting stuff to mis-inform others.

There IS proof that smoking, weed or cigarettes regularly can cause harm to a baby, in some different ways. .
Either can cause IUGR~ Intra Uterine Growth Retardation which means a small baby. It'll also mess with the growth of EVERYTHING, brain, internal organs, etc.

Anything that alters YOUR perception of the world will affect the baby the same way. (if your tolerant to pot, think about how it affected you in the beginning)
The risks of cigarettes and cannabis to your health are different. If you smoke cannabis, mixing it with tobacco, then you expose yourself to the risks of both tobacco and cannabis.

The risks of tobacco are mainly to your circulatory system with an increased risk of blood clots, heart disease and strokes.

This risk is raised when you are also taking the contraceptive pill, though overall women are at less risk of heart disease than men. In pregnancy there is clear evidence that the babies of women who smoke are at risk of growth restriction and other problems.
The risks associated with cannabis use are mainly due to the fact that the active ingredients build up in fat tissue, which includes the brain.

The main risks seem to be a decrease in energy and motivation, and an increased risk of DEPRESSION. In those who are vulnerable to psychotic illnesses when thinking is disturbed, cannabis increases the risk of a PSYCHOTIC EPISODE.

It is always preferable to avoid drugs of any sort during conception and pregnancy, and therefore it would be best to avoid cannabis in any form when you are pregnant.
The time when the fetus is most vulnerable to environmental factors is from the 4th until the 12th week.

This stuff isn't coming from me but from medical websites endorsed by actual practicing MD's.

When I read this I just knew that ppl would have a judgemental field day with this lol and for the record there is NO proven bad thing that can come out of smoking weed while pregnant....google it....with that being said I have had docs that have agreed with that but that was in az im sure there is some doc in okc that will be on the same page. Good lyck and try to ignore all of the damn negativity! :)

Young woman, I did not have a script for it when I used, it wasn't the "High grade good stuff" nor was it laced with anything but it worked. I KNOW when I'm high and when I'm not.

The reason no one is answering your question is that there are NO doctors that'll sanction you using pot during pregnancy.

I hope to god that this baby is healthy for you but you should really see some of the cases where it has NOT worked and the baby was born sick. Maybe it'll open your eyes a bit. a

Well like I said, I know what im doing and youre not telling me anything I dont know. A lot of your information is wrong, lol, but im a very resposible mommy. Im not risking anyones health..no one. And no docs arent the same as they used to be..they used to actually help people and work for their money. If anyone really thinks they NEED prenatal care theyre crazy. We dont need it. I agree with prenatal vitamins, but I can get those at walmart, lol. And yeah you probly did get stoned cuz you were getting the high grade good stuff! "shame on you!" You got your baby stoned! Lol..it doesnt matter what you had it for..you were still getting high. And anyone can walk in and say I have back pain and get it. And again, ive done PLENTY of research and I KNOW its not hurting anyone. And 2nd and 3rd hand smoke is a JOKE! But I probly wont post again on this cuz no one is answering my question..lol..they just try to tell everyone how perfect they are..lmao! But thanks I guess?

Look, your gonna do it if your gonna do it but your risking your child's health ESPECIALLY if your doing it regularly, even daily.
Back in the day doctors used to put pregnant women on alcohol drips. Doctors used to do ALOT of things that they don't do today.

http://www.gynob.com/complica.htm

You may not be the only one who had a healthy baby while using, but plenty of women DONT and every woman has a different amt she uses during her pregnancy which may affect wether she has a healthy baby or not.
Yes, it's most likely gonna be legal at some point but it isn't now and YOU ARE RISKING LOSING THAT CHILD to CPS if he/she tests positive and if they choose to do a test on the baby's first poo then your screwed because it'll show positive even if you quit a couple months before birth. .

SOME people who do get scripts for it really need it. I have sever back pain and needed it at one point when my primary doctor refused to treat the pain. Only one or two puffs helped for an entire day.  I do NOT advocate using  just to relax during pregnancy. When I used it I was about 12w pregnant and used occasionally for a couple weeks but NEVER actually got high from it because I wasn't using it for that reason.

Think of your baby, be a mom and think about the possible consequences of your actions.

Some info for you:,
It takes five to seven alcoholic drinks a day to cause fetal alcohol syndrome. We certainly can't as physicians recommend that women have alcohol during pregnancy. However, if someone has a glass of wine here or there in the second or third trimester, there's never been any evidence that it will affect a fetus.
POT LEGALIZATION INFO:

By the way, Pot may be "Natural" but it's been bred to have much stronger effects than the stuff that grew 50 years ago. You should look into it.  I hope your not using around your child, 2nd hand smoke is BAD for any kid...hence the bronchitis I've had ever since I was a lil girl due to parents that both smoked til I was a teenage...

Lol..crack IS bad..marijuana is not. The ONLY thing bad about it is its illegal. And its only illegal cuz the gov cant control it completely and tax it. Its 10000 times better than alcohol and thats legal. Why? Because they can tax and control it. And yes, because ive had one come out perfect DOES mean it can happen again and again. Im not the only one who has done this. You guys obviously havent done research for yourself, you go by what you hear. Its gonna be legal soon anyway and we wont have to worry about it anyway. Do you think the ones who have perscriptions for it have a real reason for it? No..we just like it. God put it here for us and I intend to take full advantage of it and im sure my kids will do the same when theyre older. I look forward to spending that time with them. And no, she will not have future problems because of it. Lol.

i can't think of a dr that wouldn't be concerned . mine was concerned about 2nd hand smoke coming from my neighbors and gave me a note to management so i can move. Any drugs alcohol and cigarets are bad for unborn kids and the problems might not be here right know but they might come n next years. And if you need smith to relax drink a glass of wine or listen to a calming music

Take out the spaces and read this. Martikadragoon said it, and ^^^ is to back it up. I'm glad you quit, and hope you don't continue. Medical marijuana is one thing, but I don't know of a state where it is legal otherwise, and just the fact that you smoke could be grounds for your child(ren) being removed from your home. I would think twice next time you light up, even if you are in your home, you never know who is watching what you do. I sincerely hope that you do NOT smoke anymore, if not for yourself, for your childrens' sake. I grew up with potheads, I couldn't tell you how awful it was, and cringe at the thought of another child dealing with it. Sorry I couldn't help with you finding a dr, it sounds like if you've decided to quit you can still go to your dr.

Just because you have 1 healthy child born when you smoked the entire time doesn't make it alright.
Crack addicts occasionally have a child born healthy, but does that make crack ok?

It's good you quit already.  Plenty of women go through pregnancy NOT smoking pot. btw, it's already been proven that cigarette smoking is bad during pregnancy, and pot smoking is just as bad and CAN (not always) have the same side effects, low birth weight...etc.
I grew up back east (arkansas) and live in California now where pot is legal for medical use.
They view a pregnant woman smoking pot the same way here that they do out there.

Well first, ive quit already (because I had to) and actually with my daughter I smoked the whole time. I know to quit a month or two before so its not in his system, thats what I did with my girl, I just wanted to be able to smoke the few months before. This is one of the most stressful times of a womans life and its nice to be able to kick back a little, make it more bearable. Doctors used to actually recommend smoking a joint to deal with stress. And no one can tell me that its bad for unborn children. I smoked witn my daughter and she is perfectly healthy and I guarantee she is smarter than most 5 and 6 year olds. I ALWAYS get compliments on how smart she is. I really just wanted someone who smokes and is pregnant to maybe recommend someone close. And not all doc are concerned with this, my sister in laws doc didnt seem to care, hes just too far from me. Thanks for your concern though.

Any doctor you go to will be concerned about marijuana use. They worry about alcohol and cigarette use, too. My suggestion is, try to quit. Your doctor, and ANY others you see will all urge you to do the same. It's best for you and baby. But I'm guessing your doctor will soon try to set you up with the state program to help you quit smoking so you and your baby can have the healthiest pregnancy possible. I would take them up on it, or you can risk losing your child before you even leave the hospital after giving birth. I've hate to see that happen and I've known someone that it has happened to before. She was devastated and her pleas in the hospital that she would quit fell on deaf ears. They said that if she didn't want to lose her son in the first place, she should have quit getting high during those all-important months of having the baby in her body, absorbing the drugs she wasn't willing to lose to keep the child safe. Thank goodness she quitsoon after, but it took over a year for her to get custody of her child again. The poor girl wasn't even allowed to have visitation alone with him for that whole first year. And as I recall, this was a first-time offense for her. She had no prior record of drug use.
