I was induced with my first. I liked knowing when the pain would come to prepare for it. With my second I went into labor on my own. The uncertainty was scary. With this baby I am being induced.
I've had four labors and deliveries. I'm currently due with #5 on Sunday. I've had two inductions and two come out on their own.
I told my doctor with this pregnancy that I want the baby to come on her own. Being induced wasn't "horrible." But, with my past experience, I was kind of stuck to the bed. They didn't let me get up to walk around, or have warm water running on my back in the shower... My options were limited in labor when I was induced.
My labors were a bit faster when I was induced as well. But, I wouldn't have minded a couple more hours of labor, had I been able to better help myself cope.
With my other two labors, I was free to do as I wanted to help myself cope with the pain. With that being said, I prefer my labors to not be induced.
Definitely personal experience because I know that every baby, labor, delivery and woman are different. So, to each their own.
Best of luck to you and your wee one! =)
