I've been prescribed ranitidine from my gp and it's been a life saver, I suffered bad reflux before becoming pregnant and it has been so so fantastic, one tablet a day! And amazing relief, highly recommend it! :)

In my first pregnancy I could get heart burn from drinking milk. It just happens, after months of being so uncomfortable I could hardly sleep, I finally spoke to my midwives and they got me a wonderful pill to take every 24 hrs and my heart burn was gone as long as I took it. Maybe ask your doctor at your appt.

Heartburn goes away instantly when you eat a pickle and or drink pickle juice. Could be the vinegar.

Peppermint candies. They help with heartburn and nausea.

Slow down on the Tums. They contain enough calcium carbonate to raise blood calcium levels. This can interfere with your body's ability to absorb iron and zinc, which can potentially have long term consequences for you and your baby.

Eat your meals slowly and wait until you've finished to drink. Remain in an upright position for at least 30 minutes after you eat. You can try snacking on almonds, which are great because they're also high in folate. Be aware of foods that trigger your heartburn and avoid them. Drink lots of water.
