Divorce while pregnant.

Hi mommies, I'm 18 weeks & 2 days pregnant with my second son and I have a 16 month old. My husband just told me that he wants to file for divorce again (we went down this route nearly a year ago) and I think it's definite this time. I'm having a hard time with trying to be okay because he's choosing the worse time to do this, but I'm trying.

I was wondering if there are any other moms out there who have had this experience before and what they did to try and just keep positive. I don't want the added stress to affect either of my kids.

I don't know what state you live in,  but in most states it's harder to file for a divorce if the wife is pregnant - because custody issues will arise once the baby is born,  and so usually divorces aren't finalized if the woman is still pregnant.

I'm not sure that acting like you're "okay" with this should be a primary goal - if you're not "okay" with it,  everyone within earshot should know that.

Best wishes.

In my state divorces can be filed and processed during pregnancy. But I've taken the past few days to just mourn and cope with everything and I've realized that I deserve better, and so do my boys. I've had the support from all my closest friends and family with me being able to chatter on about it. But I feel like I'm in a better place now! Just focusing on me and my babies :)
