HELP...Progesterone Levels

by expectant_mom, Jan 27, 2009 05:32PM
Hi Everyone,

I am looking for some advice, I have a history of m/c and because of this I contacted my physician and requested they test my progesterone levels because I have heard that you need at least to be at 15 to keep a pregnancy.  First, is this true?

Well, at the same time they tested my HCG levels (which I think are good) and now I am wanting to see if anyone has had a healthy 9 months but not had a level of 15 or higher for their progesterone when only 5wks along?

Progesterone was 10.4 and HCG was 8,329 at 23 DPO.

Thanks and baby dust to all.  Amanda

I found this information:
Progesterone during menstrual cycle

Day 1-14   >1 to 1.5 ng/ml

Day 15-28 2-28 ng/ml

Progesterone during pregnancy

First Trimester 9-47 ng/ml
Second Trimester  17-147 ng/ml
Third Trimester 55-200 ng/ml

I think for 23DPO this is a good number, but I've never had my progesterone levels drawn. Are they going to redraw?

Not at this time.  They gave me progesterone suppositories for now until my u/s on the 9th.

I really hope this works out.

You know who seems to know a lot about progesterone levels is JoyRenee in the regular pregnancy forum . I would ask her if I were you.

Your hcg sounds pretty good. Mine was only at 3000 when I was that far along.

Good luck.
