I started I just haven't finished yet...I don't think it's too soon!

by Latrice414, Aug 11, 2009 02:02PM
My bag is packed, im ready to go:)  I only live 7 min from the hospital so if i need more items DF or my sister can easily pic them up.

I have toieltrees, pads(with wings), outfit to go home in, camera, socks, undies, sports bra and hope i dont forget my laptop.

For baby: 3 outfits, 2bibs, 2blankets, 4 diapers, some wipes.

I have a medium size duffle bag and i can still fit a lot of other things in it.

I do need to get some nursing pads to have for coming home. I was going to bring a nightgown but i rather mess theirs up instead of my own:) and i will use there stretchy net undies:)

Debating on if i want to bring my sons mp3 player or not, probably not.

I'm ready to go! I believe it or not I have done it. I kept procrastinating on it thinking it was too early but i finally did.

by luvmy2girls, Aug 11, 2009 03:09PM
I guess it's about time.  How will all of you remember the last minute things like laptop, camera, and mp3 players or things like that?   Any suggestions.  You'd think I've never done this before. LOL!!

by AriQueen, Aug 11, 2009 03:12PM
Oh I've pretty much have packed everything I need to bring with me except for make-up bag since I carry it in my handbag. I've told DH to pack his things too and have it ready to go. I have my laptop next to my bed so I'm sure i won't forget. LOL

by munter, Aug 11, 2009 04:07PM
I'm half packed, i have just over 2 weeks to go and i've packed the babies things but not my own because i'm still wearing alot of my stuff. I've packed things like pads etc for myself but not the clothes. Last time with my daughter i was packing my stuff in the bag when i was in labour lol.

by agamommy, Aug 11, 2009 04:10PM
I am also ready and packed. I just hope I didn't forget anything.  The only thing now is, I hope my DH doesn't miss the birth. He has been off of work for 4 months and just got a new job... He starts on Monday and he will be 2 hours away.  And when the baby comes he will only be able to take a couple of days off...

by Juana824, Aug 11, 2009 07:37PM
I am half packed...I think I will complete the task over the next few days...

by radhika28, Aug 12, 2009 02:21AM
I thought I was fully packed, but after reading the list above, i think im 1/2 packed :-) forgotten completely about the camera, sanitary pads, wipes & toileteries :-)

by chantal21, Aug 12, 2009 04:01AM
I haven't even started and after my little scare yesterday...I think I need to get moving!! I need a bit more than normal as long as I deliver with my midwife at the birthing center. I better get moving! I can't beleive we are so close. Feels like I just found out yesterday that I was pregnant!!

I'm packed, past due, and getting STILL keep thinking of things I need.
COMFORT
-I got a few of my ultrasound DVD's & pictures to help me through  (I have a lot because I paid for electives)
-Some Christian music
-Baby book (for recording) and safe ink for footprints
-Makeup case (for family’s pics)
THE NECESSITIES
-Nursing Bra
-Nursing pads
-Panties
- Overnight Maxi Pads (which hospital may supply but I’d rather have my own)
- An outfit to wear home (which I chose a maternity dress I would wear earlier in pregnancy since we’ll still have an enlarged uterus when leaving the hospital)
-CAR SEAT
- Receiving blankets
-One of those things that go around baby’s head in car seat, (not sure exactly what they are called)
-Boutique dress for baby
-Onsies
- Diapers (incase the hospital should not have them)
-Small pk. of wipes
-Socks for all of us
-Travel size baby care products
-Toothbrush
-Toothpaste (travel size)
-Deodorant (travel size)
-Phone charger on checklist (if the hospital will allow cell phone use)
-Snacks and drinks for husband (I packed mini g2 gatorades, 4 pk. of pudding, and some sea salt w/ cracked pepper chips.

I hope this helps with some ideas for what to pack. If you ladies think of anything else we could use let us know.

Thank you for posting this question, and for me to answer exactly what you asked...
YES I am packed & NO, I don't think it's too early for you.

If you have the urge to do it, go ahead! It's just one more thing off your checklist and I found it to be kinda fun. :)
Good luck sister!

Is this your first?   It's my 4th baby and I still wonder why I can't get it together!  Oh well I am starting soon.   This weekend is my birthday then I will get busy.   One suggestion I would make for you on the outfit home.....don't where a dress.   I know I feel like things aren't secure right after so I would suggest wearing something that will hold your belly in.  Just a suggestion.  I know I am wearing some early maternity capris and a t-shirt.

I'm packed and the bag is sitting right by the front door.

Thank you! I'll pack up something secure/snug to go under my dress. :) Yes. She's my first... Could be why I'm carrying over. :(  I hope I got everything else all together.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY next week. I hope it turns out to be a good one. (My birthday was funny... It was nothing but baby stuff... as if the 3 baby showers were not enough) lol

Yes I have the baby's bag packed:
-1-3 Onesies (one cute one for pix, one to go under some clothes, incase it's chilly outside, and one just incase the other ones get dirty)
- 1 Sleep-gown thing (with matching mittens and hat)
- 1 Sleep N' Play body suit- thingy to take baby home in(I would just bring him home in a gown, but I want to make sure that I can snap the car seat)
- 3-6 Pairs of baby socks, just incase they get ditry or they don't match
- 3 Bibs (That say "I love you mommy, I love you Daddy, and I love Grandma)
- 1 Burp cloth
- 2 Receving Blankets
- 1 Hand Made Blanket
- A changing pad
- 2 5oz Bottles(Just in case I physically can't brestfeed)
- 1 Pacifier
- A small pack of newborn diapers (just incase either I don't like the hospital ones, or they don't have any)
- A small pack of wipes
- Travel Sized BABY:
- Shampoo
- Body wash
- Lotion
- Diaper rash cream
- Orajel (I know that it sounds funny, but I put it in there just incase I would need it, and so I would have it for future use, so it would be in there)
- Vasoline
- Baby Tylenol
- Thermometer(one that can be use rectually, axillary, and in the ear)
- Nasal Asperator (I know the usually give you one of those but I want to make sure that I had my own just incase)
-  Had Sanitizer

I'm pretty sure that's everything that I have packed for my baby's stay.

No I haven't packd my own bag yet, since I'm still wearing alot of the matunirty clothes that I have bought.  But I think I'll start getting packed within the next few weeks...

Are the energy drinks for your coach, visitors, or yourself?
I'm addicted to energy drinks (I love the taste of Monster) but it's not for pregnant or nursing women so I've stayed away from them.
Good idea for everyone else though, if that was your plan. :)

by bimbicat7, Aug 21, 2009 01:34AM
i meant sports drinks gatorade powerade etc for me!!! x

by Emy725, Aug 21, 2009 01:13PM

its never too soon bc till this day i still go threw my bags to double check and make sure everything is in there!

by slzerbst, Aug 23, 2009 11:23AM
LoL I just finished packing my bag last night, well I should say that I'm half packed because I'm still using some thing like the toothbrush and things like that so I'm wating until the day of or night of to get things like that.  However, I do have a pretty detailed list of what needs to get packed still for either myself of hubby, along with that, I had to pack for my two dogs (they are going to my parent's house, which is on the way to the hospital) and make sure that my cat has enought food and water while I'm away...

by lmc2132, Aug 24, 2009 08:46AM
I just did it this weekend, I kept needing to switch to bigger and bigger bags!  I figure better have more stuff than I need than miss something I wish I'd brought.

It was SOOO fun packing baby clothes!!!
