Anyone not ready yet????

Hi all,

I am 34 weeks this week and slowly counting down the days.  My Baby Shower is only happening this Saturday and DH haven't bought anything yet except the things I need for hospital.  I am beginning to get a bit anxious, but I was planning on waiting until after my baby shower to determine what else I need to get.  But the more I speak to people the more I realise that I am so not ready for my baby yet.  This is my first baby, so you can understand I have absolutely nothing...LOL

I am still working and unfortunately its going to be to the end. I still need to get my Unemployment papers ready, I need to pack my hospital bag, I need to decide how I am going to give birth... Gosh. and between all this, I still need to remember to pee!

Is there anyone else that is as delayed as I am?

Ah thanks everyone, so good to hear that I am not alone and that I am not the unprepared ultra loser...LOL

Thanks for the advice on the birthing plan.  Think I am going to go with the "go with the flow" plan.

Good luck to all you ladies too. I hope all goes well for you all!

I was never a fan of a birth plan, if your in a hospital they have access to all things that are available, once you go into labor and the pain kicks in, you will do what your body tells you, take the medication or epidural or tough it out, as far as a c-section dr will let u no if you need one if labor has been prolonged and your water has already broken and if the baby is in danger.

Im not 100% ready, im still getting things in order, will be packing my hospital bag 2mrw.

Luckly, after my shower i only needed to buy a few things, and the gift cards i got will pay for that.

Hope you have a great babyshower

Yep I'm with you. I can't decide if I want medications or not etc. We haven't packed our hospital bag, nothing in the house says oh we're having a baby in a few weeks. I think things will be fine! Good luck!

I think it is OK to not be completely ready.  My coworker just had a baby--she said don't worry if you don't have everything, as people come out of the woodwork to bring you stuff, and anyway baby only needs a few things in the beginning anyway--diapers, some clothes, blankets, and something to sleep in.

The hospital bag should take no time once you have a good list.  It might be good to spend some time thinking about a birth plan, but even that, most decisions will come naturally.

I say, don't worry!
