Frustrated :/ Just want someone to listent to me ramble.

Soooo ladies I finally will have insurance on Thursday =]   So I wanted to go ahead and make an appt. So I can see the ob and have her check me out make sure my baby is growing and everything is fine... Tell me why all the offices I call are like ummm well we won't see you until your 10 weeks. And what insurance will you be having? I'm like ? such and such. They are like we don't accept that.  I'm like dang. Ok.  So me and my boyfriend were gonna go to Cali tomorrow and come back before my appt. for insurance on Thurs. And I called another office and was like can I get the next available appt you have. and she is like what insurance do you have and i'm like none, i'm paying cash. So she was like cool =] Sooo then she tells me the appt. she has available isn't until Thursday at 3. BOO =[ not gonna work for me... And the price was reasonable. Like 350.00. So I call another office right and they are like yes we can take you today, but you have to have a pregnancy test which is 67.00 and then we do the normal routine which is 1200.00 I'm like nevermind! AAAAHHHHHHH...

Needless to say I finally fount a place that will accept my insurance, and I got an appt. for the 26th. Which I will be 9 weeks then =] So I'm happy. And I'm just praying everything continues to go well and everything will be good at my appt.

I can see why that would be driving you crazy. I bought new insurance in October before we got pregnant. I know even with my insurance we have a 4k out of pocket deductable that I have to cover before the ins pays a dime. So far  we're at 5k in ob visits and one trip to the er. Thank god for insurance. If that's how much it costs in the first month of pregnancy then I couldn't imagine trying to pay for all my prenantal care on our own.

Good luck

Wow shawndell, did you have medicaid.  Once i found out i was preggo, i went part-time at my job so i could get state/medicaid insurance and a lot of places in milwaukee wisconsin take state insurance and im seeing a good OB and will be delivering at one of the best hospitals here. The only thing is, when we get state insurance here you have to sign up with a HMO, i did have to switch my hmo to the one my ob takes, but it was fine bcuz my family practioner takes a variety of them.

Some clinics here dont see pts until 10 weeks also. My last pregnancy i saw OB at 5weeks, only thing they did was preggo test and history and physical , pelvic exam and said come back in 6 weeks(which wouldve made me 11weeks) but i went to ER 5 days b4 appt and had a missed m/c at 10w3d baby measured 10w1d.

I have same OB and she has been great with me, she has seen me every two weeks so far and ive had 3 u/s and will have one this friday when i see her, but then i have a feeling she will tell me she will see me at 12 weeks, well i will be 9weeks when i c her.

Wow that is expensive! I get insurance through my job in March, the clinic is charging me a "copay" of $50 until then per visit. I don't get my first appointment until Thursday (this week) I'll be 10 weeks, and I'm high risk.

Good Luck! I hope everything goes great, please keep us posted!
