I can see why that would be driving you crazy. I bought new insurance in October before we got pregnant. I know even with my insurance we have a 4k out of pocket deductable that I have to cover before the ins pays a dime. So far we're at 5k in ob visits and one trip to the er. Thank god for insurance. If that's how much it costs in the first month of pregnancy then I couldn't imagine trying to pay for all my prenantal care on our own.
Good luck
Well, I wish you the best of luck with your 1st appt.!!!! Keep us posted!!
I have insurance, but it's still expensive even with insurance......
Wow shawndell, did you have medicaid. Once i found out i was preggo, i went part-time at my job so i could get state/medicaid insurance and a lot of places in milwaukee wisconsin take state insurance and im seeing a good OB and will be delivering at one of the best hospitals here. The only thing is, when we get state insurance here you have to sign up with a HMO, i did have to switch my hmo to the one my ob takes, but it was fine bcuz my family practioner takes a variety of them.
Some clinics here dont see pts until 10 weeks also. My last pregnancy i saw OB at 5weeks, only thing they did was preggo test and history and physical , pelvic exam and said come back in 6 weeks(which wouldve made me 11weeks) but i went to ER 5 days b4 appt and had a missed m/c at 10w3d baby measured 10w1d.
I have same OB and she has been great with me, she has seen me every two weeks so far and ive had 3 u/s and will have one this friday when i see her, but then i have a feeling she will tell me she will see me at 12 weeks, well i will be 9weeks when i c her.
Thanks amberd. I will mosdef. keep you updated on everything. I hope your appt. goes well and can't wait to hear your updates =]
Wow that is expensive! I get insurance through my job in March, the clinic is charging me a "copay" of $50 until then per visit. I don't get my first appointment until Thursday (this week) I'll be 10 weeks, and I'm high risk.
Good Luck! I hope everything goes great, please keep us posted!
