Gender Myths/Or facts

Share the stories you have heard about gender myths or even gender facts.  Well im watching deliver me right now and it said that longer and complicated labors mean a boy. And most c-sections is due to boys. They said bcuz they have larger heads than girls lol. My first child i was in labor 28 hours, they gave me oxytocin, they broke my water etc. it was a long 28 hours and what do you no, a BOY lol.

What is the one myth/story about how the baby sits, im not sure if i got this right but i think i heard if the baby sits hi its a girl and if its low its a boy.

Anyone else have any myth stories to share or even medical facts:)

LoL so I did the gender predector thing as well!  And guess what mine says that I'm going to have a girl, not a boy like half of the people said.  But who knows, this is my first baby due Sept. 3rd 2009.  But I bet that wont happen.  But if it does it would be super cool!  Any who I just thought that I would pop in here and say that much.

I've heard the myth about tying a ring to a string and dangling it in front of your belly.. circular means one gender, straight back and forth means another. (not real sure which is which...too lazy to look it up, lol)

I did the Chinese Calendar thing and it predicted girl for me... I'm actually hoping for a boy. It's our first and I would like to have more, and I want my younger kids to have a big brother. I always wanted one :)

We'll see, I guess.

Ha mine also said Boy, so your age probably really doesn't matter. Although i went back and did it for my other 2 kids and they were right.
But if the mythis true about the heart rate thing then maybe i'm haveing a girl cause my last scan at 8 wks the heartbeat was 170.
Who knows i guess i'll find out when the baby arrives, i dont want to findout with this one. i didn't find out with our 1st, i did with our 2nd cause i wanted a girl and that's what we got so now that we have a boy and girl i really don't mind what this one is.

I had to laugh at the labor one...My first three 8 1/2 hours with pitocin. My 4th baby...28 hours with pitocin I hemorrhaged oh and it was a girl. lol. I did the gender predictors with all of mine (this time again too) it was wrong the last two times but I couldn't help myself again this time (says boy). :)

I can't wait until we can all post our genders, I am so excited!

I have heard that a fast heartbeat is a girl (over 160 beats per minute) and a slower heartbeat is a boy.

My last u/s showed a 174 bpm.......girl? :)

Of course there is also the Chinese Baby Calendar.  You can look up your age and date of conception and it predicts boy or girl.  (Google "Chinese Baby Calendar" or "Chinese Lunar Calendar" and it will come up)

The calendar predicted boy for me!!

I heard the opposite...the more sick you are = a girl.
Same with how you carry, high = girl, low = boy
if you gain weight everywhere = girl, if you are all belly = boy

Well, I have also heard that the sicker you are, that means a boy.  But I don't believe that to be true; or at least not for me.  I have 1 boy and 4 girls.  I was very sick with my son.  But I was also very sick with all my pregnancies and if I had to pick one (before this one), I was the sickest with my 3rd child, which happened to be a girl.  But I did have a friend that only threw up a couple of times with her daughter and was sick her entire pregnancy with her son, sooooooo, I think it really just depends on the person.

I have also heard the one about if you are carrying high, its'a girl, and low, it's a boy.  Well, I am short, so I always carry high no matter what.  There is no where else to carry :)

I've also heard that babies get bigger with every birth.  Like each child you have gets a little bigger than the last one.  Not necessarily true.  My 5th child was my smallest one yet.  We shall see with this one (#6).

Oh, and that labors get shorter with each one.  Mine have varied.  Now, my first one was the longest, but then my 2nd one was only about 12 hours and then my 3rd one was like 24.  So, while I totally believe that #1 is the hardest, that doesn't mean that all of your labors will get shorter and shorter.

Okay....I think I am done :)
