just need some encouragment

This is the weirdest thing....I've been more worried about my baby since my u/s at 18.5 weeks then I ever was before. I guess I feel like he has a chance to survive now, so I want him to hold on as long as he can. Before, I thought if we lost him it was for the better because of a problem with the fetus. But now I think if I lost him I'd blame myself because it would be MY body's fault. I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy. Do any of you feel this way? I really thought that feeling him move would be reassuring but it just bothers me more when he hasn't moved for a few hours. My midwife has assured me that everything is going well and that I shouldn't be counting movements for 4 more weeks but I can't help but worry. Thanks for "listening".

Might be worth a try, but just don't freak out if you don't hear the hb on stethescope.  Sometimes it's very difficult to find with one of those, from what I understand.  (I asked this question on another forum a few days ago.)

That's why i'm not even trying it.  If I didn't hear what I wanted to hear, I'd freak.  No doubt.  Because I'm a worryier.

You could also pick up a stehascope and hear the hb that way. I think they sell them at drug stores. I'm glad your feeling a little better.

Thanks ladies! I went to the doc today for a thyroid check up and he heard Eli's heartbeat with his stethoscope. It was a strong 164 (he was kicking like crazy) and that made me feel better for today. My husband and I have been praying every day and I know God hears us. I think once I have one healthy baby, I'll worry less for the next one. If that makes sense. I'd love to have a doppler but I can't afford to rent one, we are paying for everything out of pocket. My midwife will see me for a quick listen if I ask...I just don't want to seem crazy by calling her every week :)
I'm just waiting, not very patiently, for the day when he can survive if I have him. Thanks again!

I feel the same way keep thinking I'm going to have preterm labor or something is going wrong. I rented a doppler as well and it's been a life saver. Soon enough you'll notice a pattern to the movements and then know when to look for them. I've picked up on that in the last two weeks or so. The baby is awake right after meals and late in the evening for awhile.

Yes, I can totally relate to your worries.  I feel the same way.  I had this HORRIBLE  nightmare that I lost the babies around 20 weeks due to a problem with my body, like cervix problems or something.  I remember in the dream how upset my hubby was,,, and it was just awful b/c I felt it was my fault.

With these twins, it's so scary.  Like for the last week I haven't felt the "usual" fetal movements from the side where baby B is, and i'm worried sick.  This has always been the most active baby, until recently.

I can't really rent a fetal doppler b/c with twins it's hard to know who you're hearing.

We're all so in love with these babies.  It's just our maternal instinct to worry about our children, I guess.

I will continue to pray (and I'll ask all of you to do the same - there's power in numbers) for a healthy peaceful pregnancy for all of us.

Hugs,,, and God Bless

THINK POSITIVE! Have peaceful mind.....rest well, sleep well and eat well will do.

Pay attention to baby movement especially at 28 weeks onwards, consult DR and find out more on counting baby movement. Study the pattern, eg. kick, punch, hick-up or turn etc..... when you notice the pattern change, for example from regular kicking to turning, do alert!  Get a doppler is perhaps the best way to monitor your baby's well beings.

Just sit back relax and enjoy your pregnancy... No worries, baby healthy!

It is very natural to feel worried. Iv started to feel my baby only in the mid of 20th week. And that too sometimes in the baby not very regular, so even i worry if allz well inside:-)
But best we can do is STAY POSITIVE and have complete faith on the God who gave us this chance to be pregnant..that he will take care and then he sure will.
I agree with Latrice and Juana on renting the doppler.

Stay positive always, it will help your baby too.

Just keep praying and have faith.  I still have worries even though i saw my baby and they said everything is fine.  I do have a fetal doppler that i am renting and that does reassure me.  At first i was feeling my daughter all the time, now its like sometimes, and i get worried, but i just pray that everything is ok.

I will keep you in my prayers.  Try not to worry, stress is not good for us and the baby.
