I tried eggs and she loved them! Most the time she wants food NOW and I just don't have the time to cook them for her.
we didnt have anymore fruit puree today so we gave her cherrios and banana. she was pretty happy with that.
Kylie thankfully will still let me feed her, but she's also demanding to feed herself more and more. One way I've found to help is when I feed her to let her told her own spoon. That way she has some more interaction of their own.
I too have fed Kylie eggs as none of our family has food allergies. We went to IHOP's and she ate 5 baby cakes (pancakes) and a plate of scrambled eggs. Sometimes I'll also cook her a waffle, tear it into Kylie sized bites and she'll eat that. The appetite this child has is insanity. I also give her the baby yogurt that Gerber makes, and any other foods we eat. Everything is home cooked (I detest box meals and 5 minutes cooking) so I don't worry about what's in it. I also get lots of fresh fruit and vegetables (she LOVES broccoli) and feed those to her.
She won't eat avocado because she can't pick it up herself same reason she won't eat fresh fruit cut up.
We did yogurt this morning and she ate most of it. I only buy organic vanilla yogurt and always check the label for high fructose corn syrup. You wouldn't believe how many yogurts have that stuff added.
I thought about trying to mix some of the frozen fruit thawed in the yogurt.
I hadn't tried eggs because I thought you were suppose to wait till a year. There are no allergies in either side of the family so I guess I should be safe.
Sometimes she will let me feed her from my plate with a spoon or fork but not her oatmeal in the morning.
It's an adventure everyday with all her changes and learning.
Finn loves scrambled eggs and can feed this to himself easily. We also sometimes make a frittata with eggs, cheese, and leftover vegetables - he can feed himself this as well. He prefers to feed himself but will let us feed him too (thank goodness). What really helps is to give him something to feed himself - like cheerios, while I feed him - I can sneak in bites in between his handfuls. Our breakfast of choice is usually plain yogurt mixed with pureed fruit (homemade or baby food). Have you tried dry cheerios? Pancakes and waffles, while not the healthiest, are a good finger foods as well. You also don't have to stick with breakfast foods - pieces of ripe avocado would make a great breakfast. You could also try pieces of cheese to add to the toast - to increase the protein on the days she only has toast.
lily love scrambled eggs too. she has not rejected 1 thing she can feed herself though yet. we are still doing cereal mixed with fruit puree for breakfast too, im not sure what im going to do yet after for breakfast. we do finger foods for lunch and dinner. maybe try the stonyfield toddler yogurt lily loves that.
Lily loves french toast and scrambled eggs. I know they say wait til a year for eggs but theres no history of food allergies in our family so I sneak it in early.
Yeah Kaelynn will take about 3-4 bites off a spoon then start spitting it back out in her hand and playing with it.
i started giving Em blueberry waffles (no syrup) and she loves them....also toastable pancakes are another one of her favs
she will only eat our food now too and she has to feed herself....if i feed her with a spoon she spits it back out....its become quite the challenge but im figuring it out
