thursday touchbase - week of 7/9/10

wow...i am slacking...i just realized that today is thursday already.....i have been following some of your updates throughout the week

as for me....i passed the glucose test...my result was 118....yay....i was having problems with cramping in my legs (charlie horses) but most likely it was from the road trip to pa last week....so i have been eating bananas like crazy...my doc wanted to do bloodwork just to make sure everything was ok and i havent heard anything yet so hopefully thats all it was

my next u/s is 7/19 and next ob appt is 7/20....im ready for july to be over with....8/7 is my baby shower...i cant wait and as most of you know...i STILL dont have a name for this baby girl :(    im seriously getting frustrated over it...DF is stuck on keeping mary as her first name and im trying to figure out how to make it unique so im in process of choosing another first name to go with mary....not an easy task :(

how is everybody else doing?

I must be so weird. I love the heat waves we've been having. When DF isn't home I turn off all the ac and just leave a fan on to circulate the air. It's so much nicer than winter and freezing all the time.

It was 103 degrees yesterday. I spent most the day inside. Today it's in the upper 90s. I love this weather! As long as I can get inside for a break in some ac. I also have a pool to cool down in.

I hear ya on the heatwave... I live in the South East here in the U.S and the last several days temps have been hovering around 100 F.  We're supposed to get a little reprieve soon, we sure could use it.  We do have air conditioning Thank God, but it's making for some horrendous electric bills.  Poor DH works out in the weather so he's really having to suffer this massive heatwave.  I won't even let my kids play outside it's so freaking hot.

I went to KRoger yesterday and got one of those racecar shopping carts so Gabe could sit in it, but the idiots at that store always keep those outside so I ended up making Gabe Furious becuase I had to put him in the actual cart part until we were in the store a few minutes and the plastic cooled off...it was so hot *I* could hardly touch it!!!

I am now 29 weeks along. I failed my 1 hour glucose test and I am pretty sure I failed my 2 hour glucose test but I havent heard from my doc yet. My next appt is 7/14 so I'll ask then. Up here in Canada where I live we are having a major heat wave and I have not been able to cope. The temp with the humidity is in the 40C and it is hot. We don't have AC and I don'tknow how to cope. I am really worried that this heat is going to hurt Fynnigin I can't even describe it. I don't sleep cuz i am all sticky, I drip sweat just getting dressed in the morning. I have a fan right beside my bed but it just feels like its blowing hot air. This is going to be the worst summer even if the temps and humidity stay like this.

This might be long...so much going on.

Well lets see.  I had my ultrasound last Thursday and can't remember if I posted about it on last weeks update.  Everything looked good, she's still breech but I'm only 31 weeks today so she still has time to flip.

I made the mistake the other day of spending 3 hours detailing my truck..I also put the base for the infant carseat in there while I was at it.  It looks good now, but boy did I pay for it.  I have been having a lot of hip pain in my left hip and some days it gets really bad.  My doc said it sounds like sciatic nerve pain, which I've never had before so I don't know.  He gave me some hydrocodone and up to the other day I had managed without taking any but I was practically in tears after that it hurt so bad so I broke down and took one.  The good news is that I slept better that night than I have in awhile LOL.  It was hurting pretty bad last night too after a day of doing the weekly shopping.  I managed without taking anything tho.

I've also started swelling, another joy I usually get the last few months of being pregnant so I'm not surprised.  AFter my 2nd pregnancy I was still so swollen the doc put me on a diuretic and I literally lost 25 lbs of water weight in ONE WEEK.  It was crazy.  I'm not concerned about the swelling becuase as I said before I have had it with every pregnancy.  I've also been craving a lot of salty stuff this time so that doesn't help. It does make for some strange "designs" on my legs after sitting for a bit though LOL

I pretty much have everything ready for the baby.  With a couple of exceptions.  I need to wipe down the plastic part of the carseat and put the cover back on.  Then I can just snap it into the base in my truck and put a towel over it to keep dust/dirt off of it.  I need to put the bassinet together.  As soon as the safety gate I ordered for my hallway gets here I will be putting together DS23mos toddler bed and moving him into his brothers room (he's still in the crib in ours right now).  I've got mine and the babies hospital bags packed.  I still need to pack the kids bags of stuff to keep them occupied since they will be going with us.  I had DH pull the old double stroller out of the basement and I took it completely apart and washed it so I just need to put it back togheter.  Other than that there's nothing baby related I NEED to do.

On the other hand, I STILL need to paint the living room ceiling and walls and we need to put the baseboard down so that we can have the carpet installed in there soon.  We just bought a brand new couch and recliner and I want to start using them but won't take the plastic off til the painting is done.  I also need to rearrange the dining room becuase we just got 2 new dining tables.  Yes, TWO! LOL  It was cheaper to get 2 smaller ones and put them together rather than buying one large one that seats 8 which is what we need...we've outgrown our Kmart-6 seater LOL.

My next ob is July 15th.  I should get the papers from my doctor then to go preregister.  I'll also do the epidural "class" at that point as well (basically signing the epidural consent forms ahead of time)

Hopefully by next weeks update my "to do" list will be much smaller :)

i STILL need to get this place cleaned up and ready for baby....DF is such a procrastinator and its frustrating me...i dont want to be doing a super clean/steam clean when im 8 months preg....i want time to relax before the baby comes and he puts everything off!!!! very very very frustrating

also, im going for my marriage license in the next 7 days...as soon as my fiances parents can get out here we are going to the courthouse and getting married....i cant believe im actually going to be married so soon....its really not the wedding i wanted or dreamt of when i was a little girl but it will do for now....we plan to save money and have a real ceremony in the next 5 years....i just hope mr procrastination doesnt mess that up...i really do want my wedding but we also dont have the money for what  i want so we will have to save

I'm still waiting on the results of my glucose test. I'll probably just ask em Monday when I go in. I've also been really sick the past few days and am finally able to eat a little bit of something. It seems a bug is going around. I'm really excited because our stuff that my family got should be arriving this Sunday for us to pick up, so we're going to go through the room next to ours and start moving it all around and putting it into storage so we can set our room up this weekend. I've also been attempting to pack my hospital bag, but anything I think to put in I end up taking back out because I'm not sure if I'll need it between now and then, or if it's even needed to take. I just hate not knowing how long I'll be in the hospital for and I really don't want to overpack. I hope everyone else is doing good. :) we're all getting close to that finish line.

whoops I knew there was more to post.

I did the pre registration and hospital tour today. I found out that there are jacuzzi tubs in all the labor rooms and birthing balls available. I'm pretty excited about being able to use a tub. They wont let you deliver in the tub which I don't want to but I want to be able to labor in it to relax.
I also found out they don't do walking epidurals so if I want one it's the full dose which I am not to keen on that idea. I have some thinking to do and know I don't need to decide now I have time.

Last two weeks we have been stressed about where were going to be moving. Last night Bf's sister asked if we wanted to move in with her. Last we heard her husband said absolutely not. Well we are moving in with them at the end of the month. (see other post for more details)

I discussed how much pain I've been in with standing on my feet at the bar for 6 hour shifts and now that we are going to be moving somewhere where were only paying a couple hundred versus a thousand in rent I think it's time I quit the bar. Bf agreed that it was ok and we could make it on just his income now. I will still be working at the Hotel till mid August. I sit at that job and it's really not that bad.

I went to the Dr today for my 32 week check up and everything looked perfect. He also agreed it was time for me to quit the bar. I left my appointment and went to the bar and told the owners tomorrow will be my last day. I am beyond over joyed at getting rid of that job.

Last night I noticed some pain in my knuckles when I bend them. It's a little worse today and I forgot to mention it to my Dr. I think I will have to call tomorrow. It's in my fingers and toes. I think I might google it too.

I am definitely also slacking! Not in the not posting area but I about had a mental break down today with the issue of not getting anything done for this little girl... It makes me feel like I am totally unprepared and I am not this kind of person. As most of you know if you have read any of my journals that we are waiting to get major (well it has turned into all things baby) things baby until my hubby gets his re-enlistment bonus to get everything we need. We found out a few days ago that my hubs isn't going to get his bonus until about August 30th or so! I am FREAKING OUT! We do have a few back up plans (grandparents, parents, sisters) to help us out but I wanted everything perfect before she got here so when she does get here I can relax and rest and heal and spend time with all of us just as a nice little family. I guess we have to deal the hands we are dealt and maybe she will decide to stay in until her due date or at least until her mommy and daddy have everything ready for her =)

I've been slacking too....just realized I never posted on last week's update!  A lot has gone on....doctor put me on restricted hours at work (4/day) starting on 6/21 and then I had my next appt on 6/30 - so now I'm out of work completely!  My bp last week was 150/90 and he suspected I was on my way to preeclampsia.  I've been trying to lay down as much as possible - but that is hard with a 2 year old and still trying to do some work from home to help out my coworkers.  I had a 24 hr urine test on Tuesday and blood work yesterday which confirmed I do actually have preeclampsia - mildly as of now.  So I'm really trying to lay down as much possible now and keep this little guy cooking at least another 4 weeks.  I'm 32 weeks today and last week my doctor said he thought I'd get to 36+ weeks....hope he's right!

We painted his room over the weekend and am waiting on furniture delivery.  I still have a cross stitch sampler I've barely started to get finished and I have figure out when to pack a hospital bag - hadn't even thought about that until I saw another post about it just now.  I have no clue what to pack!  I'll most likely be a c-sec again so I should be scheduled, but this little guy is doing things different than DD did....so I may be caught off guard and I hate not to be prepared!

My goal now is to finish up what I need to do to get ready and to make it to my shower on August 1st!  Next appt is 7/13 (going weekly now, with weekly NST) and next u/s is 7/28 - hope I make it to that!

Ugh where should I begin.... I took my glucose test on Saturday, June 19th and passed it =0) On July 4th we had a lil scare because the baby wasn't moving so we ended up at the L&D, and as soon as they hooked me up he starting going crazy and kicked and moved all over, I really felt like an idiot since I didn't feel him move the whole day and when we got there he was moving, but the nurse said that she gets lots of expecting moms who's baby's do the same thing and that it's better to be safe than sorry =0) So then after that lil scare we went and pre-registered at the hospital on July 5th just in case something decides to come up, and boy am I happy that we did because at my 6th prenatal appt which was Tue. July 6th my blood pressure was 140/88 and it has been 120/70 throughout my whole entire pregnancy so now my Dr thinks that I am getting preeclampsia already which is super scary since I'm only 28 weeks and 4 days as of right now, so I had to be sent in on the 7th to go get my blood work done to see if I have preeclampsia and I wont know my results until Tue. July 13th which is my next Dr's appt, but I have a feeling deep down inside that I already have preeclampsia because my feet are super duper swollen and won't go down even with rest =0( I just really hope that I can make it to at least 37 weeks so my lil guy will be full term. But I do have some exciting news, tomorrow we're getting our 3D-4D ultrasound pics done so I'm super excited to see what my lil man looks like. Hope you ladies are having a better pregnancy than mine =0)
