40 weeks and no baby

Question

I am 40 weeks and my due date is september 26 2013 and my op planed an induction for me on october 3 2013. I am very nervous about it all because I had my oldest son who is only 14 months natural at 38 weeks. Any advise on bringing labor on before my induction. I am 1 cm dilated and my cervix are 50% thined out. Any advise on bringing on labor.

Hi! I tried all this stuff ( sex, walk etc ) when I was 37 weeks as I knew I was in full term but rather than getting contractions my water broke and it was leaking for 4 days which I informed to midwife at first day of water broke but she did not take it serious and finally at 37+3 I was admitted they induced me for 24 hours which I can't forget whole life that pain was killing n finally I had to have c sec because cervix couldn't open n my placenta started bleeding, so whatever exercise u try including sex just be careful :-))) good luck

Thanks everyone I had an emergancy delievery on sept 28th. He is healthy and was 8 pounds 12 ounces. I ended up being 8 cm dilated when I went in the hospital and they had to break my water and I was 40 weeks 2 days.

Im over due now. Its hard to walk and sex dont help. And does that stuff really work

Walk, have sex if you can, take allot of warm baths, relax. The only natural ways I know of I did these things an my baby came 2 weeks before due date an she's fine...or you could use castor oil... 4 tablespoons in a glass of oj... If you really want him out..

I'm in the same boat my due date is the 28th. If I dnt have him by Monday  we will b scheduling an induction date. I'm only 1-2 cm dilated as well. Fingers cross we go naturally.
