pregnancy hives

Im 13 weeks. First pregnancy. So I woke up with a rash that comes and goes mostly all over my arms. But I have had it on my face and feet and legs as well. As soon as I woke up with it I went to my doctors office after speaking to a nurse who told me to come in asap. Unfortunately MY doctor wasn't in and I got stuck with a doctor I have never had. He talked to me for not even 5 mins. Told me he didn't even see the need for me to be there bc there "was plenty of over the counter" things I could've tried. And "pregnant people just get rashes" or I could be having an allergic reaction and to take benadryl. He then left my room leaving me feeling stupid.

I went home and took a shower and then a nap. When I woke I was still covered in a rash worse than before and the palm of my hand had swollen so much as well as my fingers I couldn't even close my hand. I took a benadryl and with almost an hour with no relief I went to the ER. They told me they had no idea what was wrong and there was nothing they could do for me bc I'm pregnant.

The only good advice I have rec'd is from my step mom who told me she has hives will pregnant. They are red splotchy whelps that come and go. My skin itches before they appear and then once they appear they are painful spots. They disappear on their own and resurface elsewhere later. She told me it could last for days. I have decided not to go to the doctors again unless I experience a fever or difficulty breathing and have been using cortisone when they surface.

I pray non of you ladies get this and if you do are offered more help/understanding then I was. I felt like the doctors were more focused on the fact of not being able to treat me than helping me to understand when I should be worried about the rash and when to go see a doctor for it again.

End rant. Sorry it's so long. It's been a long day.
