Is it possible...

to have contractions that don't hurt??

My stomach keeps tightening up for a few minutes, then relaxes and then after a while it does it again! But it doesn't hurt.

What's up with that?

Okay. Thanks, y'all. This is my 4th pregnancy but I never had Braxton hicks contractions with the other 3, never even gone into labor naturally. I was a week overdue with my son and they induced and ended up having an emergency c-section so they've all been c-section births.

They're probably just Braxton hicks, but they could be preterm contractions. I'm 29 weeks with twins and have been having preterm contractions since 25 weeks. They aren't painful (neither are Braxton hicks) but they come in a regular timed schedule. When I went to the hospital they were 3-5 minutes apart but they weren't dilating my cervix at all. They gave me a medicine to slow contractions down. And now they've been between 6-8 minutes and I'm on bed rest until they arrive. So just keep an eye on them, if they start coming in a regular pattern call your doctor or go in-it could be the start of preterm contractions. But if they stay irregular and not painful it's probably just Braxton hicks and they're not a worry:)
