need relief

Omg, I'm 26 weeks and 4 days along and for the last 2 weeks (at least) I've been having the worst burning sensation in my chest/tummy area on and off sometimes it feels like that in my throat as well and i get nauseous but I dont vomit.. I can't tell of it's heartburn or acid reflux or what (I believe it is heartburn just never had it til now).. anyway it happens a lot I've tried tums and peppermint tea and it doesn't help at all.. I have no idea what else to try.. any pointers??

Just take some tums, it will take it away and it's am extra source of calcium. You can also drink a tspoon of baking soda mixed in a glass of water. Doesn't taste good but it neutralizes the acid, I don't recommend doing that very often though, just if you have a really bad episode of it that you can get rid of.

It's definitely heartburn... There's heaps of natural remedies out there. Apparently chewing on raw almonds is helpful (didn't help mine though!). Milk gives me about half an hour's relief but then it comes back. Eating dinner earlier in the afternoon/evening can help for night time which is usually when it's the worst.

I take a chewable heartburn tablet called Rennie (midwife said it's the safest brand for pregnancy) before bed if it's bad which has been working well, and if it's super bad, I'll wake up and need another one round 3am.

I have the same issue. Its the worse feeling ever. I would drink a glass of milk before going to bed. You can tell your doctor to prescribe you protonix or nexium. It is safe for the baby.
