My daughter was born at 24 week, weighing 1lb 4oz. She was in SCUBU for 7 months. It was a very long rocky road for her and was told after she was born she wouldnt last an hour and shes 7 in November! She lost her eye sight through prolonged use of oxygen but had lazer eye treatment whilst she was in hospital and is able to see now with very strong prescription glasses. Unfortunate her eye sight deteriates at every appointment and I have still no idea if its leading to complete blindness. Fingers crossed
Not sure the circumstance of your question but I started contracting at 20 weeks, they had to give me medication to stop the contraction, luckily i hadnt dilated, my cervix were completely closed. Im nervous about going into preterm labor now, the thing that helps keep me going is most twins come between 20-30 weeks, and most are healthy. Hope it helps!
I had my son at 35wks, he also had the steroid shots for his lungs, and he only needed 1wk nicu. I went into preterm labour with this one at 27wks and they gave baby a 95% survival chance but said it would need around 60-90days nicu, luckily they stopped it tho.
My first born was delivered at 31 weeks, She had to stay in the hospital for 1 months. I had to get steroid shots to mature her lungs. She was 3lbs 2 oz otherwise healthy
