the size of baby?

Okay so people have told me if you are huge during your pregnancy that you will have a huge baby and if your not small but not huge your gonna have a small baby. Well I'm not small but not huge so does that mean I'm going to have a small baby? Most of my family have 5-6 pound babies. So could I be having a small baby? How can you tell if you're going to have a small baby. I mean my baby is healthy I'm just wondering because I've always been terrified to have a big baby because most people I know that had a bigbbaby ended up having a c section and that also terrifies me too. I know scary cat.

The "myth" is that the baby takes after the parents. My baby daddy was 10 lbs 7 ounces. I was 7 lbs 8 ounces. But im so sick this time around i will be shocked if the baby ends up being pver 7lbs. There are so many different factors. I have 4 friends that got pregnant at over 200lbs. Gained less than 20 lbs each and their kids wernt even 7 lbs. Then i have three friends that are about 120lbs and all gained 60 plus lbs during pregnacy and delivered 9 lbs babies.

Your body will only grow what it can handle and your size doesn't determine what size baby you will have, I know. A big girl she had a 6 pounder and my smaller friend ended up having a 10 pounder and having a bigger baby doesn't mean you'll have a c-section most likely you'll have a c-section due to complications not becausw of the actual size of your baby.

My baby was 9 pounds. I pushed him out. No complications. Self induced with castor oil.

I'm always realllyyyyy  big when I'm preg. I'm not overweight when not pregnant though. My kids weighed 6.1,6.10, 6.1. I got an ultrasound  the other day said #4 was 7.9 so far. (I'm 38wks) so I guess this will be my biggest baby if they're correct! My friend was soooo small and her baby was over 10 lbs!

It's hard to predict even ultrasounds can be off by a pound or more.  Since this is your first you have no comparison.  There are charts, and old wives tales but really you just won't know until baby comes.  I've heard you can average your birth weight and dad's birth weight and there is your ball park give or take a pound.
Don't stress over it.  I've talked to women who have had 9+lb babies and 6lb babies and they said the larger baby was the easier delivery.

Your current size has nothing to do with how big the baby will be. You have a better chance guessing the size if you average the weight you and the father were at birth.

U can go by your growth chart which will give u an estimation of weight but its not always accurare. I measured small all through my last pregnancy but baby was 9lb 12oz delivered naturally! Try not to worry about it... wat will be will be and u will have a gorgeous baby.
