Baby Lydia arrived early! (long)

My baby girl decided to come almost a month early. She was supposed to be here 11/25/15 around Thanksgiving and decided she instead wanted to be here for Halloween on 10/31/15 at 36 weeks 3 days. I woke up that morning wet and gushing and wondering if it truly was my water as I am a ftm.  I went into the birth center and after wetting a pad in 5 minutes the nurse said yep, your membranes ruptured and your not going anywhere.  I was 2.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced but at -2 station.  I really wanted to try for a natural birth and so I refused pitocin and did a lot of walking, bounced on the ball, and labored in the bathtub.  After the bath my contractions got worse and at 430 I was dilated to a 7. I could not handle the pain and got the intrathecal catheter and 20 min later was dilated to and 9 and shortly after a 10. They let me nap for an hour to prepare myself and so the drug would wear off when I really needed to push. After 45 min of pushing my beautiful Lydia Isla was born weighing 5 lbs 10oz and 18.5 in long. I had one stitch and I feel very blessed to have had a pretty good labor and deliver! I wish you ladies all the best! Being a mommy is the most wonderful feeling ever:)
