Can you be on assistance and apply for maternity leave?

Hello, I was wondering if you can be on welfare and take maternity leave? I ha e a friend who is on assistance and also wants to take maternity leave as well. I am not sure if that would work due to they are both associated with the government. Please let me know.

Welfare fraud is nothing to fool around with.  I don't know what to tell her - is she able to pay back the funds she received that she was not entitled to since she is working?

So if I understand you correctly...your friend is working while double dipping into welfare? A service meant for people who are unable to meet their basic needs and truly need help? And therefore stealing money from taxpayers who work and pay their dues to the government to help those are truly helpless? If so, I'm sorry, but that is very uncool.

So your friend is basically defrauding the government? That's going to bite her in the *** if the gov find out she's been working and collecting welfare. She's going to get dinged hard and is going yo have to pay everything back that she's collected since she's been working.

Do you mean your income is assisted with welfare?  Or, you aren't working and want maternity leave?  I with check with the welfare office and check.. They can answer any questions you would have.

Good luck
