Contractions or cramps
39 weeks today and have been experiencing menstrual like cramps for a few hours now. Should I assume I'm in labor and call my doctor or is cramping normal?
Definitely contractions. Came to the hospital and was already dilated to 7cm!

Braxton hicks felt like i was having menstrual cramps. Started at 38 weeks then once I went into labor they were much stronger and could be timed. My doctor said the cramping i felt for two weeks was actually me dialating! I'm sure it feels different for everyone! Good luck!
My contractions felt like menstrual cramps so I'd start timing them now if you haven't already
