Dying hair & getting nails done while pregnant?

Some people tell me its okay to dye your hair while pregnant. Others say its not okay. So I was wondering what your opinion was and if you've got your hair done? I'm 16 weeks pregnant. But don't want to do it for another 4 weeks. Same question with getting your nails done at the salon. Thank you.

You may want to have the skin do a skin test before getting your hair dyed. The only reason i du this is because some women have extremely sensitive skin during their pregnancy and the scalp can usually be one of the first affected. If you do a test on an area underneath your hairline, then you'll know whether you'll react

I was told the only reason some people don't dye their hair during pregnancy is because your hormones and change the color or it won't stick. Other than that I was told it's safe.

That's what I've been told. And I'm usually fine with the smell without being pregnant so I think I'll be able to handle it. Plus the place is vented well and my stylist will know I'm pregnant. I just don't want to be in the process of it and have to stop.

I think I'm going to ask my stylist what she thinks I should do. I was just wondering if any of you girls got your hair done while pregnant or nails done while pregnant. & it would of been acrylic.

I believe it's okay to get your hair dyed after your first trimester. As for nails, aRe you just having a manicure or are you getting acrylic nails? The suggestion is to avoid acrylics during your pregnancy.

I've heard it's okay for both. And that some people wear masks. I know there is a certain hair dye to use while pregnant you just need to let the hair stylist know your pregnant ahead of time.

I got my nails done in the shop, but the smell made me uneasy. I've heard it's okay but do what you feel comfortable with!
