Etiquette Question

Some ladies from my church are graciously throwing me a shower in a month (I'm 7 months). I set up a registry; I'm very ignorant about registries. Most people who attend my shower will not be close friends or family (as I have none) but kindly acquaintances. As I complete my registry, is it customary to not limit my requests? Ie. Request furniture, clothes, etc. Or should I put a moderate financial limit on my requests? Ex. Not go over $500, etc. Thank you in advance for your input.

I would just scan everything you need. and let them decide what is to expensive. My mom and sister threw me a surprise shower with some people from my church. I got a baby carrier that was around 70/80 bucks. and then i also got clothes and stuff. (the baby carrier was the most expensive thing on my list, i already have a crib etc.) You never now maybe they will decide to all pitch in a little to get you a big item that you NEED or they might all buy seperately!
