How can I cure this cold and sore throat?

My fiance has been sick for the past week. This morning I woke up with a sore throat and and stuffy nose. I took a nap this evening and woke up even worse. What can I do or take to get better? I read that it's bad to take medicine. Help please, I don't want to be sick anymore. I'm a big baby when it comes to being sick and being pregnant makes it worse because I worry. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I will try that tonight before bed. Haven't slept well last night or even for my naps. Hoping this helps. :-)
