What helped me was using a humidifier at night and a neti pot with saline rinse to clear out the nasal passages. Worked wonders.

Try to start getting a lot of vitamin C like orange juice oranges or even vitamin c pills or packets it will help you feel better much faster. You can also take benadryl at night i took childrens benadryl to help me sleep when i was sick and a vicks humidifier helps too

I had a massive cold around 7 weeks and dr told me to take Claritin. My cold turned to a cough and they told me I could take robitussin or robitussin dm. Cough turned to bronchitis and bronchospasms and was put on cough medicine with codine for bedtime and an inhaler every 4 to 6 hrs and robitussin dm every 4 hrs during the day. But you should definitely speak with your dr. Hope you feel better

Sudafed is on my list from my Dr of OK meds.  It will help if you are congested. Claritin, zyrtec, or benadryl for runny nose.  Tylenol for pain or fever.

My doctor said any Tylenol brand cough syrup is okay but ask your Dr first:)
