Jealous/angry about everyone drinking & smoking =/

Anyone else feel frustrated staying sober for so long?! I'm 34 weeks and everyone around me drinks and smokes weed (which is legal here in CO) I'm just feeling so angry that the fathers always get to do what they want, but the mothers have be responsible...if they're a good mom anyway. 9 months wouldn't be so bad, but I plan on breast feeding so I probably won't have any fun for a long time ); does anyone else feel this way, or am I just a bad person?

Ah, a nice glass of wine!  But definitely worth the wait, our babies deserve the best chance.  I won't take chances.

Thank you for understanding! I have fibromyalgia too as well as an autoimmune disease, so I obviously didn't smoke marijuana just to "party"or anything like that. I am in a lot of pain, and unfortunately pregnancy has made my symptoms flare up. I still chose to quit smoking for the health of my baby, but I can't help feeling frustrated sometimes. I'm proud of all the women on here who have given up smoking and drinking for the sake of our babies! I've done a lot of research on medical marijuana and I know there are many benefits for many reasons. I appreciate the support from the women who understand that it can be hard sometimes!

I'm a medical Marijuana patient and it has been very hard being pregnant as I had to quit smoking for my son which I have no problem doing, but I have no problem saying I can't wait to be able to eat it again having fibromyalgia in general is hell having it while pregnant and choosing not to take the narcotics has been hard as well. I don't think smoking or using Marijuana makes a person a bad parent just because they use its the way they parent and the choices they make that make them the parent they are. You can smoke and take care of your children be smart keep it away from your children and don't smoke anywhere near them no brainer. People on some of these comments are ridiculous some doctors encourage woman who are constantly throwing up to smoke so they can eat, my doctor told me to keep smoking to deal with the pain I chose not to but won't feel bad that I will continue once he is born. What happened to mothers empowering one another not tearing them down and judgment of every choice they make. Weed is now legal in 4 states and also legal for medical in many more. I wouldn't smoke while pregnant or breastfeeding but not one to judge someone if they choose to do so as it's not my body not my baby. If you really gave up drinking and everything else because you had a child then more power to you but weed has many benefits even for parents. As long as there not putting there child in harms way or making stupid choices why are we judging none of us are perfect parents and never will we be. Sorry so long just fusterating to see such negative comments she wasn't harming anyone and just because she wants to smoke doesn't make her love her any less than someone who does not smoke we all have a reason why we want our pregnancy to go faster or be over with 10 months is a long time to enjoy everything about pregnancy. No drama intended here as this is my opinion no one has to agree

BTW, I took a breastfeeding class and they said it was best to avoid pumping for a minimum of 6 weeks but that waiting to pump for 12 weeks was ideal. Apparently you can inhibit your milk production of you start pumping too soon.

The key is moderation. Will I have a glass or 2 of wine once my pumpkin bis born? Sure, not all the time, but I'll do it. Will I drink the whole bottle and get sloshed? Noooo desire to do that and deal with a hangover the next day!

Some of u ladies need to get a grip. I def agree with bundle_number_2. Just because some parents want to smoke some weed after pregnancy does not make them a bad parent. It doesnt matter if I'm high or not, i can still attend to my child 100%because i know what I'm doing.its not like weed is crack cocaine or even heroine. But weed? Pft you must not really know what its like if you think it makes you that disfunctional..as long as women are not doing it pregnant then idnt see what the problem is

But I will say that putting a baby to bed and then partying is the stupidest most irresponsible thing I've ever heard a mother to be say. I'm not talking to the weed smokers, I'm commenting towards that one lady who made the comment she's just going to party after her baby falls asleep.
Seriously, what happens if your baby just stops breathing? What if (s)he falls or gets hurt or something happens and you're too busy partying to notice that your baby needs you? Good luck to you. I hope your baby makes it safely.

I personally don't drink or smoke anything, never have smoked anything, never will and won't drink now that I have a child to tend to but I just want all of y'all ladies who are going to start smoking again after your babies are born to know that the pump and dump method does not work. Doctors tell you that if you're going to have a drink or anything then if you feel any buzz or anything then it will be in your milk. When you're 100% sober is when your milk is clean. If you're 50% sober then you're milk is 50% contaminated. You can pump and dump but if you're not 100% sober then you will continue producing contaminated milk until you're totally sober. Even if its just a little bad.
Be careful too that in some states CPS will take your child if you're caught even with weed.

Just because you smoke weed doesnt make you a bad parent. Honestly i stopped once i found out i was pregnant with my first AND secone child. I started back smoking once my first was born and still do a damn good job at raising him. Honor roll student and number 1 in his class all because of me (THE PARENT WHO SMOKES). Just because some of us choose to smoke a little weed here and there doesnt mean it will effect our parenting. Well atleast mines. I guess everyone has their opinion though.

Wow. That's all I can say. I'm not going to insult anyone but I am 1000% against weed, & its sad to read how you women can't wait to have your babies so you can get high & party. Having a child & being a mommy should be your high.

Why do you expect the men to give it up when most of you women are belly aching about giving it up. You guys should really be ashamed of yourselves. Mother hood doesn't stop once you give birth, that's when it begins and you should think about how you are going to raise them once they are here. Other wise your kids are going to grow up believing that the best thing in life is getting high.

I have read some medical journals that said babies had significantly lower motor function skills by age 1 for women who smoked marijuana while pregnant and breast feeding. I also read that the smoke is the most harmful while pregnant because it can cause lower birth weight for babies. It's hard to find a lot of these studies because most scientists and women wouldn't risk the harm just for research. I'm not a doctor, but I've had friends who smoked weed while pregnant and the babies seem a little slow to react and are quieter than other babies. For the most part, they seem normal, but it's hard to tell what side effects they might have years later. I just feel too scared and too guilty to risk it! I'll tough it out until I'm done breast feeding just to be on the safe side =)

Let me start by saying that I'm not smoking while pregnant. However, I've read up on it and from what I've read smoking weed won't harm the baby,  unlike alcohol which can cause fetal alcohol syndrome! If course some reports say it's bad. Thoughts? Has anyone actually eeaearched this? I'm especially curious about this in states where pot is legal.

To the lady who said she has a 6 oz of beer once in a while all I can say is wow lol .... But I use to smoke weed daily and I loved it once I got pregnant (didn't know I was) I hitt a blunt it made me feel so light headed I knew something was wrong and never wanted to smoke again my hubby drinks and smokes so to the ladies that thinks there Hubby's should stop just because they do its kind of selfish your pregnant you have a baby in your stomach smoking and drinking should be the last thing ... I don't mind my hubby smoking and drinking because I hate it right now and I will breastfeed so I guess becoming a mom thought me all that other shirt is not important to me

Thank you all for posting on here! I'm feeling so overwhelmed and angry at my boyfriend, but I agree with what most of you said and I know it's for my baby and no one else! I'll be strong for my baby boy, even if his daddy isn't. My baby needs me, and all I need is for him to be born healthy!  I guess I can wait until after breastfeeding to do what I want for my son to have a lifetime of health =) I'm so glad I'm not alone! Thank you everyone!

I never drank much, and I quit smoking when trying to get pregnant, but I crave a nice toke every night. Especially because I feel so sore carrying twins. I just want to be able to relax and get better sleep. Oh well, 18 weeks to go...and I'll bet I don't care to smoke once my babies are born.

I used to drink every night up until I found out I was pregnant. Now that I'm into my 3rd trimester I might have about 6oz of a beer once in a blue moon when im really craving it. I had a small glass of wine with dinner a couple nights ago. My fiance drinks daily still. There's days I wish I still could, but have to think about my little one, so I dont. Ive had about 2-3 servings of beer and the 1 glass of wine since I found out I was pregnant.
