I don't get how some of you moms only have 2 or 4 weeks out in North Carolina the law says you get 12 weeks out so how can a job say one thing and the law says different

Yu can't just get more time off if your company does not have the requirements for FMLA. It is a government program,  yes,  but not everyone works some place that qualifies.

I was just letting people know if you do want more time off you can get it no matter what your job says but I understand if people can't afford to take all the time off

To qualify for fmla the company had to have at least 50 employees and you need to have been employed there for a certain amount of time so not all of us are eligible. There's also the fact that its unpaid, not everyone can afford to take 12 weeks off without pay.

Wow...we get 1 year off in my country with 85% of the salary and the company has to keep your job. I guess we're lucky.

FMLA which is a government program gives up to 3 months based on hours worked with current company.  That program insures that you don't lose your job, aren't replaced, or fired for being on leave.
