I'm freaking out! I'm a full time nanny, I will be fired. I will have no income. My boyfriend doesn't make enough to support us. I always wanted to raise my own baby, not work a job I hate to hire someone to raise my child. I'm so sad. I've cried for 24 hours. This isn't how I wanted things to be. I love my nanny kids, I've been with them since each one was born. I'm devastated to know our time is out. I'm just heartbroken. Not a question just a vent
Can they fire you for being pregnant? Isn't that illegal? Pregnant women have right. I'd look into your right. Good luck. And cheer up its a beautiful time in your life
They cannot fire you for being pregnant. I was also a nanny for years and just recently got laid off at 25 weeks. I am in the process of figuring out my unemployment benefits. Try not to stress out too much. Life will work itself out!! I'm still very scared and worry every day, but I just try to have faith. Our babies need healthy mommies. I'll pray for you! ❤️
Talk to an employment lawyer. If they have been paying you properly (with payroll taxes and Social Security taken out and all) you probably do have unemployment rights. If they have been paying you under the table, the lawyer might be able to help you with getting them to see reason about keeping you, since they won't want to be exposed to the tax authorities for keeping you on as such a long-term employee without paying taxes.

I dont see why they would fire you?? Youre watching children so you could watch theirs and be with yours... That would be heartless of them to expect you to never have kids to watch theirs alone. Im sure it will work out. I wouldnt worry so much they might be supportive.
