Lol when my mil gave us her bed frame I hated it, my husband loved it. So when I was bringing it into the house I "accidentally" knocked it over and "pieces just went flying". (Me and my cousin ripped the pieces off and threw them) ;-)
Lol thank you for all the great advice I appreciate it!
Ok there is a simple fix to this.. but it isn' quite the most honest way of going about it Lol
Break it.. say you were trying to put some some bedding on the mattress or some story.. But serious break something that is not replaceable! Lol
If it was missing pieces anyway then it might not be very safe to begin with.
Maybe Next Time Your Fiancé Talks With Them He Could "Mention" How Excited You Were When You Guys Started Setting Up The Crib Only To Find Out You Guys Can't Use It Due To The Missing Pieces And How You're Totally Bummed Because You Really Liked That Crib So He's Gonna Take You Crib Shopping To Try To Cheer You Up. It's Not Really A Lie Plus They'll Know You Were Appreciative And It Won't Be A Slap In The Face When They See Baby In Some Other Mystery Crib Lol. Good Luck!!!
I would do what makes you happy. And if pieces are missing i personally wouldnt use it. Scratches i wouldnt be worried about. I had a coworker offer me her nephews crib used for maybe 2 months and its only 4 months old.. they paid 600$ for it and was asking only 100$ i went and looked at it.. took my cat with me and set him in it.. one side fell off when i put him down in it.. then she tells me there are 6 missing screws.. yes i can buy screws but nope id rather go spend 600$ on a new one..especially bc she wasnt going to tell me there were screws missing..
Who cares if they get mad. Its about having baby safe. I say don't use it (: mother instincts are right! And yes you should be thankful maybe keep it around idk but I know if it was me I'd throw it away and get a new one. But first.. I would speak with my husband so he can be on the same, page. (:
