No I didn't get in contact with my ob but I did speak with the on call Dr who basically did nothing. He said I had to be having contractions 3 mins apart. So my friend called her ob and she explained what was going in and she told me to come to the hospital she's at.. She's inducing me. So now were here waiting for baby.. I guess every hospital and their procedures are different but she said she would have never sent me home.. Thanks everybody iv appreciate it
Did you get in contact with your ob
Them not having rooms isn't an okay reason to send you home... what if you had been contracting or your water broke? They can't say "no room at the inn" and send you home to have your baby in the car... if there's pressure and I was that dilated I'd be worried baby is coming whether I can feel contractions or not. Hopefully you got ahold of your OB?
Wow I'm here in Canada was in excruciating contracting pains I went in to get checked and was only 2cm and they kept me...i wouldn't have gone home if I was 6
With my first child I didn't have contractions and when I went in they checked me I was 8cm my water broke and still has no contractions I give birth shortly after water broke
I don't know why they are doing this more and more. I keep reading cases on this forum of women who are due, and progressed to 4+ cm, and get sent home. ???
I agree they used to just break your water and wait, and then if that didn't speed things up you go for the pitocin and then of course the epidural that almost always follows pitocin.
But maybe best practices have changed? Maybe it's really better not to do pitocin, epidurals and breaking the water if that can be helped?
Anyway, noodles, I agree with the others that you should probably call your OB. You've been at least at 6 for days. it's time.
You haven't been seen yet?? When u feel pressure u should go in. Tell them they will be responsible if something happens call ur ob office and ask them what to do there should be an on call doctor to ansewer questions by phone. Or go to a different hospital and tell them ur having pressure.
They said that the labor and deliver rooms were full and that I was in real labor because no contractions so they had to send me home
I'm surprised they didn't just break your waters and maybe give you pitocin.
I'm in Houston TX.. I had my first baby in Chicago and I was 4cm when I went in and they wouldn't let me go but that was 5 years ago.. Now here in TX they sent me home..I'm so confused I don't know what to do..
What state are you in? In my state they are not aloud to send you home after 5cm
Wow 6cm and they sent u home. Jeeesh what are they thinking. I don't even know what to tell you but to be ready for any change in pain or pressure since ur at 6. Best of luck girl wishing i was that dilated :)
