antibiotics?

I went to the doctor Monday for my first prenatal visit I am 9 weeks. They called today and told me I had a UTI and they want me to take amoxicillin. I was surprised I don't feel like I have a UTI and my urine is clear and taking antibiotics at 9 weeks makes me nervous. Should I take antibiotics or should I try to cure it with cranberry juice because I have no symptoms at all?!

Thanks guys I think I'm gonna take the antibiotics to make sure the infection is all cleared up. I just hate taking anything during pregnancy.

Only problem with not taking the meds is you won't know if the infection is cleared till your next appointment. Also not all uti's will present symptoms but can be dangerous to yourself and babies health. That's why at every ob visit they test your urine for one. Antibiotics are very low risk during pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I was on them 6 times. Obviously the discussion is yours but I suggest the meds

Definitely take the antibiotics. Uti is something that needs antibiotics to cure and if it goes untreated then can develop into a kidney problem which in some cases can cause early labour. Much safer to take the meds. I've been on the same antibiotics twice during this pregnancy and am now 36+ weeks and baby is perfectly healthy.
