cramping in early pregnancy

Hi, everyone I just found out I am pregnant. I am 4 weeks and 2 days. I don't go to my first prenatal visit until May 18th which will put me at 9 weeks. I've been having mild cramping and woke up last night with cramping but it went away. Sometimes is worse than others kinda like menstrual pains but some are sharp like twinges. Is this normal? It has me a little nervous.

My first pregnancy was horrible, I thought I was dying before I found out I was pregnant....I had the worst cramping was almost in tears, went to the hospital to find out I was pregnant and it was my uterus stretching....

When I was in my early stages, I didn't believe I was pregnant. I had cramps just like my period, just a bit lighter. I ended up taking 5 tests and guilting my midwife into giving me an ultrasound because I didn't believe it! I'm 31 weeks now, and if I couldn't feel her I still wouldn't think I'm pregnant xD

Mild cramps are totally normal. It's your uterus growing. My OB said most all women feel cramping in their first couple of months of pregnancy. If you're having severecramping accompanied with heavy blood flow youshould call or see your doctor right away.

I had cramping constantly for about 6-7 weeks of my pregnancy. I didn't even want to test because I was convinced my period was going to start at any time. The heating pad became my best friend. The cramping slowly subsided and now I'm almost 15 weeks!

Well i found out when i was 6 weeks, hadn't took a test because i was having bad period pains. Im now 9 weeks, after a doctor's visit and then worrying sick because i had to go to an EPU for a scan. To be told eventually off a midwife some women do get pain, like they about to come on the worst period and that they get pain like a stitch. So its normal.
If the pain is extreme, and your bleeding/spotting then go to your doctors/clinic like I did.
