Obviously i Know that skin colour doesn't matter because if i did i wouldn't be with my African parnter would i, but people should be proud of their skin i believe , im white im proud to be white like my man is proud to be black , it doesn't matter wat colour u are just be proud of urself , but i think we also have to let our kids no when their old enough to understand that there is racism in the world and it still happens today unfortunately , no one deserves to be treated differently because the colour of their skin we are all the same underneath we all got the same colour blood

I just want to be one to say this.....your baby isn't a color, race, or creed. Your baby is a new soul that needs love, guidance, and care. I don't think it is right that people raise their children to care about skin tone.

White, yellow, green, red, orange, purple, brown, black, blue, and anything in between doesn't make a person good or bad. It is their soul and character that they should be know as. If you are a caring person your skin color doesn't matter. If you're a complete jerk, your skin color still doesn't matter.

Anyways that's all I have to say, you're skin color doesn't determine who you will be.

I know how you feel. I visit the UK often and on my last visit to the House of Lords (my husband and I are good friends with a few representatives) we saw people getting picked on for being Muslim. As Muslims ourselves we couldn't believe this (and we live in Texas where you would think it would be bad).

People are you going treat you poorly for whatever arbitrary reason they find. Whether you're rich, poor, black, white, Christian or Jewish. Remember what makes you happy and surround yourself with others that support you.

Racism is evil and it's a sickness. Any time someone has something negative to say to you just ignore them. they're not worth your time or energy. Just love your child.

Lulu,  I think the UK is going through an agonizing social situation right now,  and you are bearing the brunt of it.

I don't know where the UK will be in 20 years,  but there has been so much social angst between different cultures that it seems like you all are  in complete social crisis right now.

I'm sorry people are calling you names.  :(

My baby will be half black. I'm sorry you are dealing with that. I haven't had to deal with much of it.

Its your life not theirs! I am white and with a Cuban. So my kids are bi rasical also. I haven't heard anyone say anything racist toward me or my kids but I do know that one day my kids will have to deal with it, we live in a small country town with very few Hispanics and even fewer blacks. I don't see a problem with being with someone of another race as long ad they treat you right!

Well the baby is half white too :) There is racism everywhere so don't let it get to you. I don't know where you're from, but where I live there are so many mixed people. It isn't even something to draw attention to. There are so many mixed couples and their children, it's normal. But I understand because you encounter ignorant people from time to time. I am half white and half Hispanic. My daughter's father is white so she's a quarter Hispanic. His mother never seemed racist to me. Until I had her and I mentioned teaching her Spanish and she was so offended. She said she thought it was dumb because we live in America and speak English. Yeah, pretty ignorant. His uncle even made a joke behind my back about knowing that at least the baby will be legal because we know she was born here. To make it worse, most people don't even know I'm not full white. They just think I'm tan because I have brown hair and green eyes. But all it took was his family knowing my ethnicity a day the racism came out ignorance is everywhere and your baby will not be among the minority. In 50 years the whole US is supposed to have among brown complexion from being mixed.

It makes me angry that people can be so cruel when I was in school I was picked on for no reason and most of these people were my so called friends. My little boy goes to crèche and he's got children in his group from different countries and even one of his teachers is from Nigeria and I'm from Ireland I love the fact of that because they get to learn about the different countries and were everyone is from.

People these days have no respect for others hun don't be ashamed be proud and when they say it don't put any pass as that is all they are doing is waiting to see what your reaction will be. At the end of the day we are all the same doesn't matter what race. Pisses me of to how people can be so cruel wish people were more thought full and caring.x

Good for you . Those people are obviously very ignorant people. Ignore them and let them know how ridiculous they are when they say those ignorant things.
