Do any of you ladies have gestational diabetes or have had it before in the past? This is my first child and I am  frantic at this point to hear i have gestational diabetes. Devastating news to me. How did you guys handle this type of news?

I had it with my first child and the only thing I had to do was watch my carbs check my blood sugar every so often. I did not have to take any medication or insulin injections. No sweets or anything high in carbs. It's a pain but they may send you to a dietician who will give you a menu and guidelines as what your suppose to do. Don't freak out to much I'm sure you will be just fine and it should be completely gone as soon as you deliver if all goes well.

I have type 2 diabetes and am 29 weeks. I have to watch what I eat and check my sugar 5 times a day. So far my levels have been controlled with meds (not on insulin injections)  I promise it's not as bad as it seems. Pricking your figure that many times is annoying, but on the brighter side I get watched like a hawk by my doctors and have an ultrasound every month. I'm healthier now than I've ever been :) and my little man is right on track!
Don't stress yourself about it too much, it only makes it worse. Best wishes to you and your little one!

I do understand your worry though, any type of problem is scary. We as mothers just want everything to be ok. Don't stress to much about it my dear. Easier said, than done, I know, but stressing out about it doesn't help. Just do your research and try all you can to control the problem (: hoping for the best for you and your little one, and I hope you find peace and ease with the situation

I failed my one hour glucose test and also my 3 hour glucose test. I'm waiting to go to my doctors appointment at a Maternal Fetal Medicine center. I know it sounds horrible but I'm not too worried about it. Changing your diet really helps wonders!!
